In the last month he has been peeing in the house.
First it was only in the kitchen (either on the stove or trash can) I called the vet and they were like "since it's in the same place every time it's probably just a behavioral/habit thing. Clean it up, get a new trash can if it continues or gets worse bring him in.
It wasn't every day and we realized he was doing it if we didn't take him out first thing in the morning (Normally he was fine waiting a bit while everyone got the morning started (breakfast/dressed)
So we started taking him out as soon as we woke up. Then he started doing it mid day, so we thought maybe he just needed to be let out a bit more often. So I'd let him out every couple of hours vs every 3-4.
Then he started peeing in other rooms, and upstairs.
Went to the vet, he wouldn't pee there so they couldn't get a sample. They went ahead and started him on an antibiotic. and told us to start crating him at night and when we're not home, and if it doesn't get better bring him back in for blood work.
It's not working. He doesn't do it when we're not home, or at night. He does it when we're home.
This morning I took him out as soon as I let him out of the crate, he refused to pee and kept walking back to door. I went out with him and made sure he peed. He did I let him back inside, got the kids breakfast and then we went upstairs to play. Came down and there is pee in the kitchen.
Am I supposed to keep him in his crate all day? That sounds awful.
Is he just an a-hole? I plan on calling tomorrow for an appt for blood work, but I don't know what else to do. I love him and I don't want to get rid of him, I'm just worried he's doing it because he's pissed at us (which I'm pretty sure he is) but he gets attention, we play with him often, we could walk him a bit more, the kids don't abuse him. I don't know what else to do.

First, he's not pissed at you, dogs don't have emotions like that. Second, being crated isn't awful, dogs are den animals.
After you rule out any medical problems that could be causing this, I would tether him to you when you're home so that he can't go off and pee somewhere. Housetrain him all over again. And make sure you clean up anywhere he does/has peed with an enzymatic cleaner.

Dogs don't have the capacity to be pissed at you. Is he neutered? If not, I would get him neutered asap.
In the meantime, take in a urine sample. Do potty training 101: outside every few hours and a treat for when he pees. Make sure he has a good chance to pee multiple times. Belly bands are good for training. If it doesn't look medical it might be related to anxiety; a DAP collar can help a lot with that. I'd also try to bell train him so he has a signal for when he needs to go
