For those of you who buy gifts or anyone with some good ideas. Sorry if this is a repeat- I didn't see a thread on it and I need to get my butt in gear.
What are you getting/doing for SO? What are you getting/doing for the kiddos?
When my sister and I were kids, my mom used to buy us PJs and underwear. Sounds wierd but it was actually a pretty fun idea I don't usually get my H anything.

I'm getting H some beef jerky from the butcher shop by our place and a few of his favorite chocolates. We usually don't spend much for Valentine's Day.

I got him some silk boxers, a nice button up shirt, some comfy slippers, and also ordered one of those chocolate baskets with fruit that we can both enjoy.
we usually do a nice dinner out, I get flowers and he gets a cake. I went on a shopping spree this weekend and told H he could consider it my early valentine's day gift.
I got FI a pretzel maker that he's been wanting for months. We'll also go out for a nice dinner (not on Valentine's Day but that weekend. We're too cheap to pay Valentine's Day prices)
I'm making chocolates for him (truffles, strawberries, peanut butter cups, salted caramels) I bought this lame lego minecraft set for him that i know he will love. and i'm making him a lame minecraft card.
last years theme was dr. who. I prefered that one.
I'm planning on something different this year. I got a package of little notecards and I want to do seven days of little treats/surprises leading up to Valentines Day.
Things like a bag of M&Ms, a pack of his favorite pens, $5 Starbucks card, etc. plus a note from me. I plan on putting them in his car so he finds one each morning.
I got us a groupon to go do a wine & painting thing together, and I'm contemplating another groupon for a small local hockey team. I feel like we're in a bit of a rut lately, so I want to put more effort in this year and also arrange for some new/fun experiences for us rather than just presents.
I think DS is going to get a book and there will be treats after dinner. I am contemplating a pink themed menu- penne w vodka sauce and chicken or something like that. Heck I may hunt down some heart shaped pasta.
DH is the tough one. We do cards (one sweet and one funny) and then I don't know what to do for him. I usually do some sort of a man spa thing at the Grooming Lounge (DC area ladies this place is awesome for the guys in your life). But, since I have done it the past few years (I think he still has some GC $ there) I wanted to do something else. He doesn't do books, we don't really drink much at home, he likes television and going to the gym. He has been really good about going to the gym lately but he isn't really one for gear. I may look into some new work out shorts or sneakers. Blah- I feel like that could send the wrong message. Get your fatness on the treadmill!
I buy my husband a card and one of those big heart shaped boxes of chocolates because he loves chocolate. He buys me a card and sometimes sends flowers. I'm okay with just a card because I don't care for chocolate.
For my H, Valentines boxers and I'm baking him some cookies. I think I want to find something else for him. For my son, I think I'll get him some stickers, a balloon and maybe a little candy.
I'm going to make some heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats. Or, when the treats don't just magically become hearts and I get stuck to everything in my kitchen trying to make them, I'll cut them into bars and write a sheepish note about how they were supposed to be heart-shaped.
Roll them out onto a cookie sheet with sides, it's the best way to get them to the right thickness for cutting them.

I don't know that we're doing anything for Valentine's Day this year. I will probably get a card for H and maybe get DD a book and some candy but I'm not sure.
On our first Valentine's Day I took heart shaped post-it notes and on each one wrote something that I loved about him. I then stuck them all over his bathroom mirror. That was my most successful Valentine's lol.
He'll be at work so I will probably tuck a card in his bag before he leaves. He MAY come home evenings but who knows. For DD, I will get her a card and some chocolate.
H will probably be out of town but me and S are going to make him a heart frame with our picture in it. I also got him 20 of those instagram kitchen magnets with a bunch of photos of us. We do more sentimental gifts for Valentines/Mothers/Fathers Day stuff.
S is in preschool so they are doing Valentine's I'm doing a picture valentine, something like this with picmonkey and attaching candy to the back:
I'm not sure what I will do for H. I bought a few packs of twisty straws to make valentines with for my nieces and nephews. I'm going to make heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats too.

Every year I buy H underwear and something else that is practical for Valentines day. This year he is getting me some new plugs (earrings) and we will probably go out to dinner.
