I've used one of those email psychics. She was totally wrong, can you believe it??
And then there's MIL. she's not a traditional psychic in that she reads a magic ball or whatever. Does anyone remember that RHOsomewhere where the one chick was all " I muscle test everything for allergies"? Yeah, well she does that, except she claims that she can go into your past lives, help you clear any pain (she claims that she cured her own breast cancer), and she claims that she can basically find the answer to any problem or any answer you may have through muscle testing. I just don't even know what to think. I know she's insane, but people pay her $300 a session and swear that she's the most amazing thing ever. These people are also crazy, I'm assuming.
But once I had a random man, really old with a long grey beard (kind of looked like a wizard) ask to read my palm so I let him. He was so right on everything and it was free!

I had my palm read on Venice Beach once, when I was 18 or 19 I think. She told me I was very fertile. She also kind of freaked out because my life lines run continuously all the way across my palms - apparently this is a rarity in the world of palm-reading?

My ex bff and I went to one 6 or 7 years ago. We totally convinced ourselves she was right. Then the next day was like a walk of shame. We were soo gullible. I googled all the tricks and damn if she didn't hit us with almost every one of them. LOL
My friend is going to see a medium to try and get in touch with her husband (the one who died back in December). She really wants to go but her mom is super Catholic and keeps telling her that mediums are tricksters from Satan, etc. so it's making her nervous.
I told her to disregard her mom-if it's going to make her feel better, it can't hurt, right? I also told her that if someone really does have extra sensory powers that it's a gift from G-d to help people, not Satan (I don't believe in Satan to be honest).
She just wants to communicate with her husband again desperately and I don't want her feeling bad about it.
I got my palm read on vacation in Florida when I was 13. She told me my life line ended suddenly and I would die tragically at 40. I sincerely hope she was wrong!
Yes but not about myself. Actually, psychic is not what she refers to her self as, she's a medium. She has worked on a few cold cases with the police with some successes with them. She works with my paranormal group from time to time.

Yes. I'm an atheist but I'm really interested in religions and spirituality from a sociological perspective. I've been to Lily Dale, NY, actually. (It's an entire community of spiritualists.) I've also been to a faith healer from Mexico (my roommate's mom was convinced I was cursed). I learned to read tarot cards in high school and broke it out as a talent to raise money for my Relay for Life team one year. I ended up reading the cards of a "real" psychic who read mine in turn and did predict that I would meet my husband and what he would look like. I think she also predicted I would have a son, which I did.
@booby can come here and we can all go to the chick I went to. I rec'd her to another MLer who said she found her to be like 80% correct. Maybe we are both gullible?
She did tell me things would happen in certain months and they did. :::shrugs:::
oooh send her info to me! i love this kind of thing.
Went to a "psychic party" once at a co-worker's house. Bunch of people get together and the psychic does a reading for each of them. All I heard for weeks beforehand was how amazing this woman was. It was so generic, anyone could have come up with what she told me.
"I'm seeing a male in your family that may not be in good health?" and then you respond, "oh yeah, my second cousin's grandpa had a heart attack 3 months ago." It was all stuff like that.
Yes. When I was pregnant, I saw a psychic. It took us 3 years, many rounds of IUIs and IVF to get pregnant. I was convinced it wouldn't last or something would go wrong. She assured me that "he" was fine and I wouldn't have any pregnancy issues. We never found out what we were having but I ended up having a boy with no pregnancy issues whatsoever. Everyone around us, my husbabd included, was convinced we were having a girl, but i always believed it was a boy because of the pronoun she chose. Lucky guess, probably, but it helped me sleep better.
Oh, and she also mentioned that in the near future, my sister would really need me. I dismissed it at the time because we weren't very close, but several months later she ended up having some serious health issues and she's been leaning on me heavily ever since. Again, lucky guess, probably.

OMG! lol, wtf?? Disregard that bullshit.
WTF is right. If she's right I only have ten years left.
I've seen 3 different ones. One was at a party, one was one of those places with the bright neon psychic sign type places in shady areas, and the other operates only by word of mouth and was also a medium (went to her twice). Only the neon sign lady was bad, the others have been spot on on most of what they said - when I would get pregnant, that I would get pregnant at all (I went to her before kids were even on our radar, and had a surprise pregnancy a few months later), job stuff, family issues, etc. the party psychic was just a few months ago but he correctly predicted when I would conceive to the day, and said we would have a girl. We find out in two weeks, so we shall see!
So anyway, some are for sure frauds but I do believe there are legit ones out there.
Yes, in person. This used to be my (and my friends) go-to thing for after a break up because they always tell you that person is out there for you. lol
I have had some tell me things that came to fruition, which could just be luck (most likely) and one that asked me if I knew that I had some psychic ability. I told her that i get strong premonitions from time to time which are correct.

Uh.. well the lady told me she saw some "gentle spirit" man that has been following me around. He didn't mean any harm, he was just observing. Which is weird, considering I can't really think of any dead male relatives that have died recently or anything, unless it's my grandpa that I haven't seen since I was 5. It was weird though because the day before she told me that I thought I saw a figure in the living room and it scared the pants off me. I was freaked out for like a month straight after.
She also told me she saw blue. I didn't really know what she meant but she said in the future it would make more sense. Years later blue was my wedding color.. probably a coincidence lol.
My mom got a reading as a gift a few years ago. While we were all skeptical, she was right on several things, including some which happened years later. It still kind of freaks me out a bit.
For example, she talked about my daughter, and he connection to my grandmother (her middle name is G-mother's maiden name). She went on to say that my grandmother was working on a plan to get things in place for me to have a 2nd child, that it would be a boy, and that he would have a connection to her, different than my daughter's connection.
Shortly after I got a new job, which gave us the income we needed to buy a house and later afford daycare for a 2nd child. I got pregnant with DS. My due date was on the 20th anniversary of my grandmother's death. What's interesting is that my like-clockwork period was late that month, giving me that due date.
And he has her blue eyes, which skipped two generations.
So, while it may have all been BS, there are a lot of coincidences which make me feel like maybe my nana still knows a little about what is going on - and I find that comforting.
Should I add that this one doesn't look for affirmation and instructs people to just listen and not respond? So there wasn't a line of questioning to narrow things down. IT was all statements.
Yes, a few times, but they have never been "right" about anything.
Example: on 3 separate occasions I was told I would have girls, 1 of which while I was pregnant.
However, my mother told me from the second I told her I was pregnant that I was having twins. And they were spontaneous identical twins which is a 1:240 shot. So there's that.
And Lila - I have an acquaintance who lost her 30 year old husband very suddenly when she was pregnant. She, too, went to a medium. She was desperate to feel a connection to him, and it made her feel better. So if your friend wants to go, I hope she has a similar experience.
Yeah, I think if they want to try to connect with someone it is worth trying, but i would investigate to find someone who had a great reputation.
One psychic told me my dad was cursed, which is why he died and the way he died, and that the curse was now on me. Unless I paid her tons of money to undo it. Ummm, that was fun. lol
