If you want milk and bread, I suggest getting it now. Even if the weather report is overblown, the media has hyped it up so much that the shelves in the stores will be bare. I tried buying a loaf of bread before Sandy and two stores that I went to only had english muffins. No bread.
I'm waiting until tomorrow to freak out. The weather blog said that this storm hasn't even formed yet and if it takes longer to form, we may not get much. The forecasts I've seen have ranged from 6-8" for Boston to 12"+. They won't really know until like Friday morning.
I have no idea how my new job deals with snow. We're manufacturing and open 24/7, I doubt they'll shut down. But if we do get 12" during Friday, I'd really rather be home than have to drive home in it.

I hope so. We haven't gotten a lot of snow in awhile. But if does come, I want it to come over Thursday night. I read yesterday that it might come around 2pm on Friday which would make for a terrible commute home.
I have been waiting for a huge storm and go figure we are on a 6am flight out Friday morning to Park City - which I'm so very excited about as well (and they are expecting snow too...) but I really want a big snow here in Boston- but when I'm here!

I don't know... I don't ever trust it. We're in the city, so sometimes we barely get snow. We haven't had a good pile in years. I am definitely going to stock up on beer =)
So I am starting to get a little nervous, too. I am supposed to go to this fundraiser at the Liberty Hotel on Saturday night. The fundraiser doesn't start until 9 pm, but if the roads are sloppy, ugh. I was going to spend the night at the Liberty Hotel, too, which is a little spendy, so I will be annoyed if we don't go.
I'm hopping we get some big snow it's one of the things I miss about not being in VT anymore. I may just call in on Friday depending on how it looks, it seems like where we are we always get a lot more snow than the city, it's crazy the difference 20 miles makes.
Apparently they are calling this Winter Storm Nemo. And Boston on North could be looking at 12"+ although there is some debate on where the line will actually fall and maybe we'll just get a foot or less. Some of my facebook friends are acting as if it's the end of days coming. It's New England, it snows here. Why all the shock and awe?!
Though I do need milk and bread anyway as we're all out so I might be making a grocery trip tonight just to avoid the madness. Market Basket is such a shit show on a regular day, let alone when bad weather is coming.

God help me, this why I'm hitting up the basket today as well.
www.erh.noaa.gov/box/StormTotalSnow/index.php this is saying 18-24 inches in the city... when is the last time that occurred? maybe not 1 storm but Feb 2010 i recall a lot of snow.

I love weekend snow storms. What better excuse to veg out at home, eat junk food, and drink? I also agree with everyone that said, who needs bread when you have booze!

I went to the store today to avoid the mass hysteria. Heaven help me if DD runs out of cereal bars or apple sauce pouches, that's cause for an immediate run to the store in her world. I've seen everything from 8-12" to 2 feet to 30". Of course I have to work Saturday and of course my weekend partner lives about an hour away, I bet you I won't be seeing her.
ETA: I also heard it's supposed to start Friday morning. I don't think anyone really knows right now.
DH and I decided around lunchtime today that we're heading to VT to go skiing this weekend. I just hope we can drive up there Friday after work!
Unlikely. That is going to be blizzard conditions according to the forecast I just saw.
Yeah, I heard the worst driving conditions will be from 7pm Friday - Saturday morning. If you want to head up there, I'd take tomorrow off and leave in the morning. Flurries will start around 9am.
I am a grinch and hate snow. Boo. The one silver lining is that this will be our first big snowstorm with our dog, and I'm excited to take her out to see if she likes playing in it.
