My January GlossyBox

I just started a subscription to GlossyBox because I'd heard it was better than Birchbox.  My first box came today and I thought I'd AW because I really like it!



I got:

-Narciso Rodriguez for Her perfume sample (eh, just okay, but I am on the hunt for a new fragrance so it will be a good way to try stuff)
-Living Proof Prime Style Extender (will try this tomorrow)
-Vincent Longo lipstick in Cherry (looks surprisingly good with my coloring, though I'm not used to going quite so bold)
-Lancome Mascara (will try tomorrow)
-Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum (tried tonight and seems to work well so far)
-OPI Liquid Sand polish (really neat--not something I would pick out, but it really does look/feel like sand!)
-Le Metier de Beaute moisturizer (very rich, but my skin is super dry so it feels great on)

I'm really pleased with what I got.  It's all stuff I'll use that's a little bit outside of my comfort zone, which is kind of why I wanted to try a subscription service.  And the sizes are pretty substantial, which I like, so I can try most of the stuff more than once.  It shipped quickly, too!

Update: I tried a bunch of stuff this morning.

I don't like the Lancome mascara. The brush part is really big and I got it all over the side of my face while applying.

I really like the Fresh serum and the style extender.

The OPI Liquid Sand polish is awesome. I tried to get a picture but it doesn't really work. It's glittery in some lights, matte in others, and it feels like sandpaper.

I forgot about the lipstick since I never wear it, LOL. Will try to remember tomorrow.

I have that style extender and I am confused. Do you put it on when styling or later to revive a style?

I really like the Tarte Lipstick.

Mine was the same as this, except I got a tarte cheek stain (full size, pre-release apparently). I can't find a link to it, its in a pot rather than their current version.

You are supposed to put it on clean, damp hair.  I put it on on top of my regular Aveda stuff.

I used it today and I like it better.  I think it might just be a learning curve issue with the larger brush than I'm used to.

I've actually been amazed at how well it works. But I wear it as my bottom layer of product per the instructions on the bottle (well implied instructions - it says it's OK to put other products on top).

I just joined too, and I hope my box is that good! I bought some of the OPI nail polish the other day (the pink shade) and I love the texture too. I love all matte nailpolish, so I was really hoping this was a winner and it is!

Glossybox is the one subscription service I can't quit. The boxes are almost always really, really good.
