What are your 10 things for this Thursday?

1. Sleep training sucks. The first week was good. Week two sucks.

2. Crying pumpkin for more than an hour

3. Our social worker is cancelling a team mtg tonight because its supposed to snow. I got a sitter (ok, its my mom). This is wisconsin. Suck it up.

4. I am actually calmer than those crabby posts let on.

5. I watched law & order svu last night. And had no idea that was mike tyson.

6. Carrot is super smart, but gets frustrated and gives up easily. She is behind on reading/writing. I am really not sure how much to push her. Anyone want to weigh in?

7. I asked her to make a very mature decision last night (how to move up her bedtime because she needs more sleep). I was so proud of her insight and sticking to what we agreed upon.

8. I wrote down all the words pumpkin is saying- 18 words and 4 signs at 15 months.

9. He scratches his tummy with both hands for please. So cute

10. Occasionally pumpkin calls z mama. Last night she said, "i wonder if its because i look like my mom. " sad.

11. A happier note-- new hit snack this week: goat cheese, walnut pear pizza. Also apple rollups. I use way more crescent rolls than i thought i would as a parent.

1. I am going to happy hour with co-workers tonight. Sliders and beer. YUM.

2. Last evening we had the kids' parent/teacher conference (all is good)so L and I got home at the same time last night with the kids. She sat down and did homework with them while I made dinner. It was so nice to cook dinner while not trying to help with math homework/spelling words and to have homework finished by the time we were ready to eat.

3. A friend of ours is coming over tomorrow to babysit (kids don't have school.) The kids are so excited.

4. I am excited because it means I am going to be coming in late and leaving early.

5. I ate my Chinese chicken salad that I brought for lunch at 9:30. oops.

6. We are having a party for L completing her dissertation and so far, we have 35 ppl coming and another 25 who haven't RSVPed. I have NO IDEA where we are going to put that many people in our house.

7. Thankfully, L and her mom are in charge of food and decorations. I am in charge of the kids (haircuts, clothing, playroom, and getting them ready day/of.) I can handle that.

8. I am sorry all of our Boston friends are going to get snow bombed tomorrow - I don't want 2 ft of snow, but I'd like a good 6-8" to keep us out of school for a day or so and to get some good sledding in.

9. Erat - Carter is like Carrot - smart, but gives up/frustrated easily. We've been working on things that I know he can do relatively easily to build self confidence and praising out the wazooo. And for reading, we've been buying books that I know he is interested in and wants to read vs the stupid reader books they have to read for school. We have a TON of easy reader Star Wars, Transformers, Hot Wheels, etc books that engage him. Now writing? I can't help you there. He has HORRIBLE writing. Illegible.

10. I really really really really would like to go on vacation. Ha.

1. I guess my Mom told my oldest daughter that I had fallen. Child #1 called me and told me that nothing better happen to me, there is so much that she and I have left to do. It was sweet.

2. I am listening to old school R&B...it is making me sad, my high school songs are now considered old school. :-(

3. Last night at dinner Peanut told us our bosses' names...just out of the blue...strange.

4. I need to find a purple trash truck for my Peanut so she can have her own truck. (Long story)

5. I have been fighting a cold, but I think I am losing the battle.

6. I am so curious to see a photo of True...so excited for her and K!

7. Talking about excitement, I am so happy for 2brides and L.

8. I have to figure out when I am going to see my Mom. I want to go this month, but have a meeting in New York that is messing up timing.

9. I think it is funny when I have a discussion with a professor about what is and is not available to the public and s/he tries to correct me. Uh, I know what I am talking about.

10. I have a great boss; I only wish C did to.

It's aimed at kids with all kinds of organizational and focus difficulties, but there are parts in there about controlling emotions and goal-directed behavior that might help.

1. I miss my dog a lot. I still can't believe she's gone.
2. I have 6 interviews lined up next week for 1 job. when did interviewing get this crazy??

4. I'm ready to file our taxes. Wish IRS was ready to accept.
5. DW and I are on a good streak, it's nice.

1. Having a hard time with infertility stuff.
2. I'm coping by ignoring. It's hard to avoid everything.
3. I think instead of snowing here tomorrow its going to pour rain and be utterly disgusting. I'd take 2 feet of snow over that any day.
4. We're having a going away tomorrow at work for 2 people who have been with us for 6+ years....its really going to suck if it gets canceled due to weather.
5. Due to logistics with said party my boss is picking me up tomorrow so I don't have to drive in the mess.
6. I hope the snow sticks around in Vermont for presidents weekend. Maybe we should ski after all. Ha.
7. I got bitched at by higher up at the agency that monitors my job today for stuff that is not my fault. My bosses agree with me, but it still sucks to hear it from someone important.
8. I woke up in the middle of the night last night convinced i was getting sick.
9. I told an IRL friend about ttc for the first time last night. She just kept saying it will happen. She means well, but I'm at the point where it might not. 10. One part sadness one part intense anger. Sadness was anticipated, anger not so much. But apparently it's quite common.

Since my list was so down the other day I will try to be a bit more upbeat.

1. I took a personal day today it has been nice but I didn't get our taxes done like I wanted. We HAVE to have them done for next friday for the financial aide form for Ella's school.
2. I so want to have a snow day tomorrow. E doesn't have school tomorrow because of parent teacher conferences. I want to stay home soon.
3. Boston already called school for tomorrow. Come on people call my town too.
4. We have E's parent teacher conference in an hour. Hope it goes well.
5. Sue has a job interview on Tuesday. Please send good thoughts for us! We need her to work.
6. I was supposed to go to the boden sample sale on Sat. My friend and I got us a hotel room so that we didn't have to go in the snow. But it got postponed to next weekend. I was really excited about having an overnight away and even more excited about being one of the few people that could make it to the sale. Dam you 2 feet of snow!
7. Why have they not canceled school yet.
8. My friend had her baby yesterday. Unfortunately the echocardiogram was as she said terrible and confirmed the prenatal diagnosis. I am heart broken for her. THere are 11 known long term survivors of Idiopathic aortic calcification of infancy. Please let her be # 12. The baby is named Nora and the family would appreciate any prayers if you are the praying type.
9. She has been silent all day. It makes me very nervous.
10. Going to go get coffee for Ella's teachers...yes I bribe them it is important to keep teachers caffeinated, fed and happy.

1. Therapy sucked today. Actually, I sucked at therapy today, my numbers were lower than normal. I try so hard but some days not enough of the right phrases come to mind.

2. We had our internet turned back on this morning, typing on a laptop is so much easier than using my phone.

3. My newest niece was born last night! She weighed in at a whopping 9lb 2oz!

4. A's birthday party forecast has changed from rain to partly cloudy, yay!

5. Owl purposely peed on the carpet in the living room this morning, I was so mad but kept calm while having her clean it up.

6. I want a lawn mower, the landlords gardener hardly ever shows up and I would like to keep the yard looking nice.

7. J took me on a date last night, we played mini golf and lazer tag. I had never played lazer tag before, it was so much fun.

8. I'm seeing a podiatrist this afternoon, hoping for good news.

9. Our sitter couldn't calm Apple down when we left last night so she put her to bed before the pizza got there. Apple went to sleep but I'm not happy that she didn't have dinner. I haven't been completely happy with our sitter lately but she is J's employee and we trust her so I haven't made more than a passing comment to J about her.

10. We got about a block away from home last night when we heard a meow in the car, we had to go back home to drop our cat off, she snuck in when I ran in the house to get my sweater.

1. Lots of mixed emotions going on around here this week...sending hugs to those needing them.

2. A is officially working 5p-5a as of last night. Sucks for keeping in touch.

3. I'm not going to visit A in Portland this weekend since she will be working/sleeping.

4. There is a memorial service for the child of someone I work with this weekend. I will probably go but this is tough stuff.

5. I've become quite the crier in my adult years. I don't like sharing those emotions with people I don't know.

6. E's GS troop leader has asked her and 3 other girls to plan a presentation for their meeting next week. The kids and moms are meeting tonight, this should be interesting. Isn't first grade a little young for a "presentation"?

7. I worked out last night for the first time in a while. It felt good. Hope to keep this streak going.

8. I am going to spend the bulk of my weekend doing things at home. Working on my list.

9. I wish we would have a snow storm!

10. I think I'm going to see about sending flowers to A next week.

4. I've yet to really accomplish anything today as I'm getting pulled into all sorts of random meetings.

5. Speaking of random, I ate chicken nuggets for breakfast. :-p

6. I might have just pawned off a major project on a coworker. This project was going on even before I got here (4+ years). It's awful and stupid and frankly no one cares if it gets done, but it really should get done. This would be a huge victory if I rid myself of this thing.

7. 2brides - So happy you're almost PhD free! Now get ready for adjusting to life with two parents at home. ;-)

8. My order from the co-op just came in. Woo-hoo!

9. DD has discovered the stuffed animal that was my favorite during childhood. In my 20+ years of owning this stuffed toy I never once dressed it up. She had it less than 24 hrs and it's wearing underware, boots, and has hair clips on its ears.

1. Today sucks.
2. I spent 3+ hours at the dentist.
3. Meanwhile K got 2 pieces of pretty bad work-related news.
4. Then I got call from the visitation place, and was surprised (unpleasantly) with her attitude and the plan. Super unhappy about it.
5. We both just want to go to bed and cry, but we PT soon. Plus...somebody needs to watch the baby!
6. It sounds like we might really be getting the 2 girls. We're excited about it, but hard to be happy right now.
7. It feels like we're losing Baby S.
8. I will never be the same.
9. That's all I got. We need to have a TTFriday so I can try to get a better attitude!
