... but I am obsessed with this one. I'm getting all my laundry done and got a bunch of cold cuts and bread in case we lose power, and I can't decide if I should take the snowblower out of the garage tonight and maybe cover it with a tarp because it's nearly impossible to open the garage door by hand (it's a single door that is two-cars-wide and ohmigawd heavy). I've already cancelled on a friend in Sudbury for tomorrow night (I'm in Medford) and can't take my eyes off of wcvb.com. I've brought a ton of wood into the living room, and hope I didn't bring in a bunch of bugs, too.
I'm a born and raised New Englander, but with this winter and last, I guess I'm just feeling out of practice!
I was a crazy prepper for Sandy and we never even lost power. I'm hoping to have the same luck this time. I'm just going to make sure my cell phone is charged and hope for the best. The good thing about power loss from a blizzard is it's easy to keep your food from spoiling, which is usually my biggest worry.
After the snow storm on Halloween in 2011 knocked out our power for FOURTEEN days I now keep an emergency kit in the house. It has candles, matches, lighters, hand warmers, soup, blankets, crank radio. I am a mini doomsday prepper.
I used to not care so much about storms, but in our house we usually lose power. Lost it for 24 hrs with the Oct storm and that sucked. I checked and we have lots of water, canned soup and Ramen we can heat up on the gas stove if the power goes out. We are gassing up the cars and getting extra for the snowblower. We'll charge our devices and probably put a few movies on the ipad in case the power goes out. I'm stopping at the library tonight to get some books too. I'll do laundry and run the dishwasher tonight so we have clean stuff to last a while.
I won't care at all if the power stays on, we'll just hang out and watch movies. But if it goes out this will suck!
I am bummed we had to cancel appointments for massages this weekend. That was supposed to be our Valentine's day treat!

UGH! That would be AWFUL. I'm worried, and we don't really have any friends/family close enough to go stay with. The worst part is not getting to shower! I need to get a weather radio...

The no shower thing sucks. We had a well and had no running water at all. Makes me NOT miss our house in CT. Hopefully our tenants don't have an issue.

I'm just glad that I don't have to go to work tomorrow. But I will be screwed if we lose power because I still have a ton of preparation to do for a class that I'm teaching next week, and I need my computer for it.
I do have to work Saturday night, but I'm hoping that by then the worst of the actual "blizzard" will be over and driving won't be too bad. ::fingers crossed::
