Lurker here--
It looks like there have only been a few posts on TN and obviously only a few here as well since "The Switch." I know this is because of the private proboards site. However, it seems like alot of people aren't on that because they weren't regular posters before the last exodus. People have said that the private board is for personal side conversation as well, so I know most of that won't move here and I don't expect to join in on that, but how about at least some food talk here?
If you were a lurker on TN and are dissapointed by the dropoff come out of hiding here! A fresh start for all! Old posters can still write on the private board, but I know I'd love still see your ideas on here as well if you'd like to share in both places.
Hi! It's "WeJustWAnt2". I have decided to use "MrsWizard" going forward as my new screen name. I'm also looking for "food talk" and entertaining "ideas" which I have missed this last week. (and BTW - have not been in any side conversations - so please don't feel like you're missing out on anything) I kept thinking the Nest would restore their old boards - but they're just awful. HTH and GL.
Howdy! I used to be a sporadic WC poster, including blog updates, but I didn't make the move to the private proboard. I love talking about food, so count me in!
where is the new what's cooking board? i know they made their own board before GBCN was made. maybe giving them the link to GBCN would help increase traffic. i know a few WC regs posted on other boards and a lot of us liked to browse WC every now and then.

They are still posting the link to the private on the TN WC board, so I believe news of us would have made it in. If anyone is a part of that, feel free to let them know in case it hasn't been posted on the private board.

in fairness, WC had been slow for quite for a lonnnng time. i think we'll see more traffic/posts as the dust from the switchover settles. i know there are still plenty of "older" WCers who either check both proboards or had no interest in making the original switch to the WCproboard (like me).

And me!
Me too. I guess it is on us to make this board more interesting.
For as many people that liked the blog updates, there were just as many, if not more, who were very vocal about hating the WC blogs.
I suppose that is true. For me it seemed like people posted their blog updates and then ran. I felt like lately there were very few people who were interested in sticking around and adding to the conversation. Hence the slowness of the board.

I think many blog-writers were feeling like ONLY they were contributing to the board (outside of the blog updates). People were coming to look at the blogs and not contributing to the board. Somebody said that it was like they were doing all the work. That's part of why the WC Proboard has a minimum post (of a whopping one post per month) - because they want people to contribute - on both food and non-food-related topics.
I moved to the private board awhile ago and love it, but since I lurk on MM, I came over to this board when the nest blew up. I'll probably check Food and Entertaining from time to time, but I'm loving the private board conversation. You should join us!

cmarie, did you have to create a second account for this one? I have this Proboards account, and I'm wondering if I'll need to create a new one to join the private WC board or if I can post on both with the same account. Also, can you post the link (or PM it to me)? Thanks!

You will need to register again (think of it as another chat forum, hosted by ProBoards), but you can use the same username as you do on this board.

I'm glad that the cooking and entertainment boards are combined. I'm not much of a cook, but love entertaining and the board on the nest was dead . Hopefully this board will get some traffic!

I lurked on WC but only tried to contribute once (I think). I was kind of put off by the only responses being links to people's blogs. No other conversation, just a link. I did enjoy the blogs & have tried a couple recipes & have others bookmarked to try.
