DH will be in FL next week on business, so he sent the REA an email with a list of houses, and the days (Thursday and Friday), that he will be available.
She responded saying that she 'will set this up on Tuesday and make sure that they are still available.'
Does that sound right to you?
The last time we thought we were moving there and DH wanted to look at houses, she couldn't set up visits to all of the houses that he wanted to see, because she only had a couple of days notice. I think we were kind of thinking that by giving her this much notice, she might be able to arrange for DH to see everything on the list and if a house got an offer before Thursday, the sellers would know that someone else was interested and have options. Does that make sense or is my thinking faulted?
Yes, it seems normal not to set up showings a week in advance.
No, it does not seem normal that your realtor has denied showings in the past because there were only a couple of days to set them up.
When we just went through selling our house, getting even a 24-hour notice of a showing was rare. It seems that realtors set up appointments on short notice all the time.
If your realtor sets up an appointment today for a showing a week from now, the house might not be available anymore by the time your showing comes up. If they get an offer over the weekend or something, they're probably not going to wait around for your showing 4-5 days later to decide how to respond to that offer. We had a lot of showings that didn't result in offers (or even second showings), so I can't see that we would have held off on responding to an offer just because we knew there was another showing scheduled.
