My week was okay. The only DIY thing that I'm working on now is making a dress. So far, so good. Nothing going on this weekend. The blizzard is fast approaching so I just want to get home and stay there until it's over.
We're hosting a dessert party for our neighbors tomorrow night. I've probably got 25+ RSVPs. I think they're all eager to see our house and all the improvements (we move in last April). I have a lot of cleaning to do before then and I want to make a tiramisu. I also have a baby shower to attend tomorrow morning, so it's going to be a hectic weekend.
My week sucked booty. It was super busy, but I don't feel like I accomplished anything. The H is working in the garage for most of tomorrow, then we're dropping off lil wop to the IL's for date night. I might take lil wop sledding tomorrow because it's supposed to be really nice. No H&G plans.
This week lasted forever. I started my car this morning, and it was all, "I hate you, munkii!" The check engine light came on, and it smelled like burning rubber. Yay, VW!
This weekend is going to be busy. Tomorrow we need to deal with my car, pick up a dining room table we purchased last week, and go to H's company party. Sunday will be laundry/grocery/chore day along with lots of reading and two online quizzes. I also have to meet up with classmates on Sunday to work on a group project. The ILs have been pestering us to get together for dinner--not gonna happen. I saw them a month ago; that should be good enough.

I didn't want to advertise it on the interwebs, but Mina and I were home alone this week. (DH and DD1 were w his parents in Florida.) It was relaxing & lonely. I did get our back doors, thresholds & floor patches stained & poly'd. Yippee!
This weekend we are trying to finish all our stuff in the bathroom (blocking, final plumbing, windows in, etc.) before the drywallers & tile guy come next week!
We got next to nothing done this week because I have been so freakin' tired all week. I'm not sleeping great at night...my puffy feet and ankles ITCH and I keep waking myself up scratching, and then I can't fall back to sleep. Wednesday was by far the worst - i was awake from 1:30 till 4 AM. Practice for when the baby comes I guess.
anyway...so the plan for this weekend is: Girls night out tonight - 3 of my girlfriends have birthday's this month, so we're doing a karaoke night out to celebrate. It'd be more fun if I didn't have to be the sober one with the giant belly, but it'll be fun anyway. Not sure how long I'm going to last though. Hopefully while I'm out MH will be installing the shelves in the linen closet.
This weekend: Clear tools and painting supplies out of guest room. Buy supplies to make drawer liners for the baby's dresser. Make said liners. Hang art in baby's room. 2nd coat of paint on baby's closet doors. Install door knobs. Caulk the kitchen window trim paint the kitchen trim (2 coats) final coat of paint in the dining room side of the kitchen move furniture back into place in the kitchen/dining and clear all the random tools and clutter and SHIT out of there so I can have my counters back and get into all my cabinets. And...hopefully...if our friend with the necessary tools can come over, get the three bedroom doors installed upstairs. (ours, baby's, guest room)
And some part of that will undoubtedly not get done. *sigh* I'm tired of being tired. turns out I am not as badass as bunny. Either that or the nesting thing just hasn't freakin' kicked in yet. I could use a burst of manic energy right about now to push through these last little to-do's.

My heater is not working again. Which would be fine in the summer, but it was 62 this morning when I got up. Someone is looking at it today, so that's good. And good news, my house looks to be pretty well insulated if it kept it at low 60s when it was 30 and below this morning.
I am hoping to get more organizing and decorating done this weekend. I want to hang curtains, get Monkey's Ikea dresser assembled and maybe hang some stuff on his walls.
It was intense and high stress TBH. Didn't really enjoy it. H and I are burned out on work. I somehow ended up with a bunch of farm paperwork on backlog I had to get caught up on. The accountant was not fun. I have a high stress situation going on with a student at school. We're supposed to be getting a new exchange student this weekend. That's fun and stressful. He comes with a backstory which we're meh on but we'll deal.
This weekend is supposed to blizzard. I love snow so that's fine. We also have an appreciation dinner on Saturday which is very fun. Good booze, good fun, fun entertainment.

Weeks been good I helped bring online two new analyzers at work. I was off yesterday and did some shopping. I need a new sweater for my mils party. I'm starting six days straight today
This week was pretty meh. DH is still OOT, and DD's sitter was sick a couple days so I was home with her since my mom is also OOT. I also still had elevated BP at my check up, and had to do some extra labwork. It was all just so far off the routine and just left me feeling blah.
DH comes home tomorrow (!!!!), and friends are having a mini shower for me tomorrow night. Beyond that, DD has a birthday party to go to tomorrow afternoon (though I'm hoping it gets canceled since birthday boy hasn't been at school yet this week, we'll see about today), we may be having friends over on Sunday to decorate V-day cookies, and I'm hoping DH isn't too jet-lagged to get the window blind and last two decor things up in the baby's room (I tried, and either I can't reach easily, or we need two people).
Busy week at work (as always, and like everyone else lol). This weekend we are going to some friends house for lunch and I'm hoping to finish installing baseboards in the last room. When we moved in this house had 3 different baseboard styles. I've been steadily replacing them to unify the trim and I've just got one room to go! Also, I'm hoping to trim my first window this weekend, and if I'm feeling uber productive, might start on the box for recessed shelving in the bathroom that has been 90% finished for... like 10 months.
Seems like nothing much got done at our this week and we need to start moving in next weekend. The tile finally came in so it's supposed to start tomorrow but right now we have no kitchen, no bathrooms, and no flooring. We have two littles so moving in there will be hell. We have no garage to move stuff into either. Both my boys were/are sick this week too. I hope they get amazing things done this week.

This week was busy, with 3 doctors appointments for the kids and I. Plus getting radon, termite, and house inspection. Glad the week is almost over.
This weekend is pretty chill. The only thing scheduled is I am having friends over on Sunday to do our vegetable garden planning together, and order seeds. That should be fun.
I ordered a light fixture for our bathroom. While I'm waiting on that to arrive I'll be filling holes, priming, and painting the board and batten in that room.
This is the light
I ordered it from this ebay seller for $70 (they have A LOT of nice lighting for those of you who are looking for something) stores.ebay.com/valuebrothers
I watched the Super Bowl with friends who collectively have a TON of children. And so, I naturally got sick as a dog on Tuesday from all their little daycare germs that I don't have immunity to And Wednesday. But apparently daycare germs aren't very strong, because Thursday I was able to get around with DayQuil and today I just have the sniffles.
We bought DH a new truck on Monday!! His had 200,000 miles on it, so it was definitely time! We had gone in to look at a used, but with all the rebates they were running, we were able to get a brand new 2013 for the same price as a 2011 with 30,000 miles on it. Unbelievable! The truck had .3 miles on it before we took it for a test drive and the interior was still packed in plastic. The gorgeous "Fairway Green" paint is a limited edition - the factory actually ran out of it and couldn't get anymore! Sorry I only have this picture of the butt - don't know why I didn't take one of the front!
And lastly, it's tax season, so I did taxes for low income folks again like I did last year. Every Tuesday and Thursday night. Local tv crews stopped by last night, so maybe I'll be on tv soon!
Not sure what I'm doing this weekend - there are a couple parties, but I'm still not 100%. There are plenty of home organizing projects I could work on.

Tarheels - My dad just got a brand new 2013 Silverado yesterday! (He traded in his 2011 and only paid $2k!)
Also, I LOVE doing taxes, how did you get hooked up helping people with theirs? I probably couldn't do it this year, but that is something I'd like to look into for future years. (One of my goals after selling this house and not DIY'ing anymore is to get more involved in volunteering and community outreach.)
This week was weird. Not bad, just weird, and not as productive as I had planned.
I did manage to arrange a charity pick up for today and get a bit of stuff purged. I also managed to fill several interlocking lid bins with folded fabric, and make a fortress at the ends of the sectional. DH was oot part of the week and I need for him to move them for me so that I don't mess up my back more than I already have. It is a bit claustrophobia inducing at the moment, but it keeps my fluffy pup from falling off the end of the chaise in her sleep. ;p
I think this weekend we are going to organize the chaos in the front room, and get the piano out of there so that we can have piano movers get it out of here and to my daughter's house, asap. DH uses it as a dumping ground, and I would love to use the room for storing the stuff as I pack it.
I really want to talk DH into getting a massive mid century breakfront that I saw on CL, and putting in that room. We have a lot of dishes and stuff for entertaining, and some decor items that I would love to get out my way right now, and the breakfront would be perfect for storage later..it could work in the office or my studio, as well as being a great piece for storing all of our entertaining items and kitchen overflow.

I think Chevy's gonna be selling a LOT of Silverados this month! The deals are just SO GOOD!
My school runs a VITA site. Are you familiar with the program? Certification's a bit of a pain and takes some time (so definitely not newborn-friendly ), but it's so fun once you get into it. I figure the best way for you to find one near you would be here: www.irs.gov/Individuals/Free-Tax-Return-Preparation-for-You-by-Volunteers
You could also look into Legal Aid near you. I volunteer there as well helping with tax issues. The IRS will forgive a debt someone owes, or agree to pennies on the dollar, but you have to jump through a lot of BS gov't paperwork first. The paperwork's not complex, just nosey, about income, expenses, etc. Some of the stories are so heartwrenching - unintended tax consequences when a person's home was destroyed by Katrina, people who are homeless now and the IRS is trying to collect a debt, illiterate people who signed a mortgage and it got foreclosed and now they owe taxes on it. The work there is year-round, so you could start whenever's good for you.

Week was good. Busy, but good.
We'll be at the new house off and on all weekend. My projects are: 1. Remove wallpaper from downstairs bathroom (checked this morning, it was applied correctly and is easy to peel off). 2. Sand downstairs bathroom drywall. 3. Prime downstairs bathroom walls and cabinet. 4. Paint downstairs bathroom walls and cabinet (see a trend developing?) 5. Pull up carpet and tack strips upstairs. (Urgh, I hate pulling up carpet). 6. Assess floors and decide what to do.
