I need 2" white faux wood blinds. I want nice, quality ones but don't want to pay a ton. Any thoughts on how these compare to what I could order from Lowes or HD or the cut while you shop ones?
I haven't, but we priced plantation shutters with them and she talked to us about the big wide blinds too. We have a few windows with the cheaper ones (presumably from HD or Lowes). She basically said that the slats would be more rigid and the mechanism a better quality.
We were mainly pricing out plantation shutters, so she didn't bring in blind samples to show me, but now that i'm almost sure we are not going to spring for the shutters, I wish she would have.
I wasn't blown away by the costco discount - but it was something i guess.
Costco just subcontracts through a local company so others' experiences may not be indicative if yours. Costco doesn't always have the best prices on installed services. We went through another Hunter Douglas (HD) dealer whose prices were comparable with Costco.
HD is supposed to be the most expensive blind you can buy, but I was surprised with the 2" faux wood. Their price was only about 20% more than some i had picked from selectblinds.com, and HD price included cordless lift, selectblinds did not. I didn't compare with Home Depot/Lowes.
( For comparison, HD honeycomb shades were close to 2x the price of the ones I priced from select blinds.com)
