We are having some window treatments made for our house. I'm going with drapery panels for the family room window, and thinking cornices for the breakfast nook and kitchen window. What do you think of this style of cornice? (NOT this pattern fabiric obviously, but the idea of a slight curve and a box pleat versus a straight across cornice) Does the curve make it look dated or just add a little visual interest?

IMO, I'm not a big fan of cornices in general. That being said, if I had to have a cornice on my window, I would prefer the picture below to the typical straight across ones. It's a little more interesting. If it were me, though, I'd probably be putting panels in the nook, too, but that's just my style.
P.S. I am in love with everything about your kitchen!
