I'm working from home. I was thinking I would go in until I saw the news this morning and they were talking about the T anticipating delays, plus the rain later, and I thought about all of our one lane roads with unshoveled sidewalks in the neighborhood and walking home in the dark and just couldn't do it.
Mine was okay but some towns are crazy. It's like Weymouth didn't even attempt to clear their roadways, even by South Shore Hosp it was a slushy mess. SMH

That sucks, Rock. I hope it's better for you on the way home.
I left 20 minutes earlier than usual expecting the worst, and I ended up here at the same time. It could have been worse, but it wasn't great. I did not, however, love standing in the middle of Trapelo road waiting for the bus. And I am so not looking forward to the ride home tonight. I would have driven in, but my stupid car is stuck. Sigh.
It just took me 30 minutes to get to my dermatologist appointment, it usually takes less than 15. The roads up here are a complete mess. I guess I need to scrap driving to see SO for Valentine's Day.

Providence is still a complete cluster. I have off from work again today (parking ban - therefore staff have nowhere to park), but I drove H to the train station which is about 1.5 miles away. Stuff still isn't fully plowed, only one lane open on a major thoroughfare through the city that normally is two lanes each direction, no sidewalks shoveled so pedestrians in the road, etc. Plus I saw two accidents in those 1.5 miles.
93 South bound was pretty smooth sailing til I hit exit 33. Then it was pretty backed up and my route was slow going the rest of the way through Medford to work. All the main roads in my town are completely cleared but the side roads like mine are a slushy mess. Not to mention they plowed a good 2 feet away from the curb making an already narrow street even more narrow. And now with all this freezing rain I don't know what it's going to be like when I try to go home tonight.
Mine was fine (short back roads) but H's took forever. He goes down 93 into Boston and said 93 was okay, but it took him forever to get through the tunnel and to his actual office. The city must be tough with nowhere to put the snow.
Hopefully the rain won't make it worse on the way home for everyone!

Oh man, you guys. The buses were a nightmare on the way home. The tunnel leading from Mt. Auburn to the T station in Harvard was without power. So they were sending the buses...somewhere, and looping them around, and made everyone wait in front of the post office. I walked over there, took one look at what had to be HUNDREDS of people standing and waiting, and walked over to the cab stand. No thank you.

My commute wasn't bad. They need to plow some of the side roads in my town a bit better but that's about it. Thankfully they actually plowed the parking lot at work and there wasn't a riot over parking spaces. I do have to say coming home at 9pm it was really foggy, so thankfully there wasn't anyone else on the road.
