Thank you Those ceilings are a great height. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you get all the carpet up. Will you be leaving that super convenient sink in the guest room? LOL.

We are leaving the sink. Although we're going to change out the cabinet to something a little less ugly. I've been hoping to find a dresser we could repurpose as a sink cabinet, but there's nothing reasonably priced around here.
We own an early 1800s brick Victorian (rental property) and it has a similar nook at the top of the stairs. I love old houses.
The house is 1800 sq ft. We will rent it out whenever H gets finished remodeling, our tenant moved out and we're slowly taking this time to gut and remodel the kitchen and add a powder room downstairs. The kitchen runs across the entire back of the house so we took the NW corner of the kitchen for the powder room. It's still a really good sized kitchen with eating area. We don't know the exact age of the house becuase it was built before the village started tracking real estate so we know it is very early 1800s
We've talked some about making it our retirement home. We are 2 1/4 hours from our boat, it is 30 minutes from the boat and we really want to move closer to the lake, Lake Erie.
DD owns an early 1800s home in Victorian Village in Columbus, there are some really magnificent homes there. DD and her H are getting ready to do major work to the outside of the house so it will be beautiful too. Everything has to go through their very strict review board but so far so good. Their house has wood siding, they thought they would have new siding put on but the company they are working with told them not to. The siding on there is better than anything they can buy today, only about 10% needs worked and they can fix that but not to put today's siding on this house.
