Sorry Starflower. I had the same results at my HSG. The dr said there is a 50% chance my right tube is blocked. He said it's not worth doing a lap because it wouldn't change my treatment protocol anyway, whatever that means. I then went on to IUIs and of course now I am planning an IVF.
I ovulated on the left (good) side for all 3 of my IUIs and nada so I am pretty sure that is not my issue. My RE said tons of people get pg with just 1 tube so it is no big deal - If that is your only issue it should really effect you getting pg.
I'm sorry to hear that. The biggest concern if there is some blockage is an ectopic on that side. But if its a full blockage, you can still get pregnant on one tube. I've done it with ovulating on my tube-less side and still getting pg that month. Thought my first dr was crazy saying it was possible, but my new RE says the same.

Sorry you got bad news.
Not sure if you can encourage ovulation from one particular side... my best guess would be no, but if you used a drug like Clomid I think that increases egg production in general so maybe it would stimulate both sides? I'm no doctor though.
Boo on bad news. And I know this probably doesn't help, and everyone knows someone who... But, a friend of mine lost a tube to an ectopic pregnancy, and went on to have a healthy pregnancy with just the other one.

I actually like hearing these stories! Shows there's hope. Thanks
Then I'll add this too :-)
One of my friends also lost a tube to an ectopic. It was her first pregnancy. She's gone on to have 2 healthy pregnancies, and tried for less than 6 months with both.
