I got great advice from you girls over on the Nest with suggestions for eye shadow colors. Before ordering, I decided to give some thought to what I already own (duh) so I don't spend a bunch of money on near duplicates.
I have TheBalm Nudetude palette (OMG - this is a MUST have, especially if you want a neutral palette and aren't crazy about the Naked palettes), so really I'm pretty set on a nice range of neutral and mostly brown colors. Let's see if I can figure out PIP.
I also have Stila In the Garden, which wasn't a smart purchase because I rarely use it and the quality of the shadows just aren't great. It has some nice greens, though.
I also have the Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box. I love these, but typically only use the brighter colors for weekends and fun nights out.
My eyes are hazel, and I decided I wanted to focus on colors that I can use along with the neutrals I already own to make my eye color pop - so purples, pinks and oranges. I also included a few brown colors that I just really love, and also two nice silver shades since I'm currently lacking those.
Sooooo, here is what I am 99.5% sure I'm going to order today, or maybe tomorrow.
Amber Lights Woodwinked Cork Seedy pearl Creme de Violet Satellite Dreams Stars n Rockets Fig 1 (or should I do Sketch?? I can't decide!) Cranberry Expensive Pink Da Bling Rule Coppering Copperplate Electra
Did you see my comment about Fig 1 being a nice neutral purple to order?
Ha ha, nope! I guess the Nest ate it I'm mainly looking for a medium or darkish purple to use along the crease with lighter purple shades or other lighter colors. Fig 1 seems like it might fit the bill.

I love sketch. For a nice purple i love shadowy lady and i usually pair it with vex. vex is a great color that kind of molds to whatever other color you are wearing, greens, grays, purples.
Every time I post about which MAC shadows I should order, I just end up with about five colors I haven't considered and now want in addition to the ones I posted. LOL.

I love love love Amber Lights and Expensive Pink! I just wore EP yesterday after not using it for awhile and I realized just how pretty it is. My eyes are brownish green and it looks really pretty on.
I'm placing my order now, and I'm going with Fig! I can't wait to get these shadows because the colors are soooo pretty. I really should have created a custom palette earlier instead of doing the Stila In the Garden palette and the UD Deluxe Shadow box. I was just so overwhelmed by all of the MAC options, but I think making my own palette will actually mean that I use all of the colors.
I'm especially excited about amber lights, expensive pink, da bling, cranberry, and creme de violet - these all look gorgeous!
IT'S DONE. No more obsessing! I ordered all of the colors in the list above (went with Fig 1), as well as a paint pot in Painterly.
I did take a few minutes to obsess before I submitted the order, though. I kept going back and forth on whether or not I should include Woodwinked and Cork, as I already have a good number of browns. Woodwinked is so pretty, though, and cork seems like it works well with so many colors, and I don't think it's super close to the other browns I have.
Can you tell I'm a little OCD? lol
No more eyeshadow purchases for me for a long, long time! In addition to those above, I have almost all of the Maybelline Color Tattoo shadows, the Too Faced Naked Eye palette, and a Dior Color Pastels palette (sooooo pretty! In fact, I'll PIP it's so pretty).
Now that I have so many shadows, I think I may try to do a full month where I do a different eye look every single day to force myself to use different shadows and come up with different looks.
