Are children automatically enrolled in the program? If so, is there a minimum age that they can be seen?
Jackson is learning to walk and keeps falling on his face, and lands on the same tooth. His gum has been bleeding on and off for the past week so I wanted to take him in to see if everything was ok. I have no idea how they will be able to examine an uncooperative 9 month old!
Most dentist will not see a child under the age of 3, your best bet is to call your ped and make an appointment and let the ped decided what to do next

find a ped dentist, they are fairly common. its recommended that kids see a dentist at 1 if they have cut teeth. they are good at unruley kids, my daughter went at 13 months

I think you need to enroll every member who using the dental insurance. It is seperate from TRICARE itself and you pay for it each month by an allotment if you want. I think it's like 12 or 18 dollars. Really cheap. Just double check that he is insured.

The current AAP and ADA recommendation is for children to have their first visit between 6 months and one year. Years ago, it was age three, but that changed in the mid-90s.
You have to enroll each member. I think you can do it online. I know you could when it was UC because I enrolled DS online, but I'm not sure if MetLife offers online enrollment. Once you enroll, his coverage will be effective at the beginning of the next month. So unfortunately, even if you enroll him today he won't be covered until July 1. But you can still find a dentist and make an appointment for July now.

Thanks! I wish I had taken care of it last month now...
