I planted a few corn plants and something came in a snipped the plant off and dug up the corn kernel part that was left. I germinated the seeds indoors to try to prevent this because the same thing happened to my pea plants but they didn't even have time to germinate.
What can I do? I'm planning to re-germinate more tonight and not planting them until they are plants and the old seed hull can be pulled off completely. Will that do the tick or am I doomed to not being able to grow corn?
My guess is the culprit is a bird or squirrel. I know you can get a wind sock for birds but how do you keep squirrels out?
