She STILL hasn't had her freaking babies. She was eating like a hog this morning. Loss of appetite is supposed to be an early labor sign, so I doubt I'll come home to any kitten surprises.
She's still SO sweet. I keep telling her that she's safe to have her babies now, but she won't listen. I swear she's doing it to torture me :-(
Here's a pic from yesterday. It doesn't do her huge belly justice at all, but she can't sit normally anymore.
Her name was chosen before I got her (Athena), but I'm going to name one of the babies Gypsy.
I updated in the OP. Things do not look good. He was hospitalized on Saturday and Sunday evening to get IV fluids, and they had no effect on his kidney values. And they discovered that he was only born with 1 kidney. (An aside, H was born with only 1 kidney too. He and Nero are both missing the same kidney.) So we brought him home with subq fluids, antibiotics, pepcid, an appetite stimulant and prescription wet cat food. Well he's lethargic, whines a lot, and isn't interested in food at all. So we're making him happy and letting him live out the rest of his days, how ever many that is. And we are making plans to have him cremated when his time comes.
I am a mess. Moreso that I've ever been for a cat. He's my boy. I'm his person. I will be a disaster when his time does come.
I seriously have 2 different birthing "nests" set up for her, so she'd have a choice. Where is she spending all of her time lately? In a tiny New Balance shoe box, under my H's Rock Band game drum set.
Isn't she a little big for the shoe box? Cats are so fun.
She's way too big. haha. She just kind of sits on top of the box. Weirdo. I moved one of the large birth boxes I've prepared into that corner. Here's to hoping she uses it soon!
