I loathe ours. They are...I don't know what material, they aren't stainless & I don't think they are plastic. Anyways, I hate them. I've hated them since the day DH bought them!!
Im also thinking about getting a raised feeder. Probably just a single since we have so many visitor dogs of various sizes over all the time. I wouldn't want a shorty not to be able to get a drink!
No recs - but let me know if you find a nice raised feeder. We've been thinking of getting two, but never know which kind and don't want to spend a mint!
We have stainless bowls for food and random plastic drinking bowls. We're fancy! ;D
Stainless interior, poly-resin exterior, removeable non-skid ring on the bottom, dishwasher-safe
Ok For real I was JUST looking @ these today!! I was *this* close to buying them! But then I figured I'd find them online, so I walked out of the store & completely blanked on the name!! Thanks!! Lol

I have to use stainless for my dog, because he thinks his bowls are a toy and he likes to chase them around the house. Ceramic he would break on the first day, and plastic he would chew to bits.
Even putting them in a feeder doesn't help; somehow he always manages to get ahold of them again!
I've had to buy one or two extra as well, because sometimes he loses them and then I can't find them when it's time to feed him.

I DID have a really fancy bowl set for Davi, however while my fiance had her running and playing one day, she somehow stepped on her fancy ceramic bowl the wrong way (of course the one full of water) and broke it in the middle of my diningroom... now that we live together she has her one fancy bowl, she shares a huge salad bowl that he has for his dog, and then his dog has a plain white bowl for food... its quite the mixmatched set...
We have stainless bowls for food because a certain little white spotted dog likes to chew on plastic ones and I'm too clumsy for ceramic. They have one of those 'fill up the bottle and let the water go into the dish' water dishes because they drink SO MUCH water, especially in the summer, and I got tired of filling it up 4 times a day.
When we had just Ziva and she hadn't earned her freedom yet we actually had these thingies where you can attach the bowl to the side of her crate. That was nice but now with two dogs and only one in a crate, its a pain and I'm lazy, so they get floor bowls now.

We feed raw for the dogs, so Brooke eats in the backyard and Mona eats on a towel in the living room. The cats have ceramic bowls and all the pets share a big stainless water dish.
We have ceramic bowls for the cats and for the dog. My kids made them all at a paint your own pottery place
I have ceramic bowls that I got a TJ Max or Ross or something like that. I had started with bowls for Lauren (bigger) and smaller bowls for Heidi, who was still a little puppy. We have slowly broken them over the past 2 year and now I have 1 large water bowl and a non-matching food bowl and then a random ceramic cereal bowl.
I was totally thinking of going to a Color Me Mine or other ceramic painting place and making a nice set of matching bowls for them.
On a side note- do you have one water bowl for your pets (of the same species) to share? Or multiple bowls? I started with multiple bowls because Heidi would fall into it- she's an enthusiastic drinking- but that was mostly useless and they've only had one for a long time,
We have very basic stainless steel bowls like these:
I like them because they won't tip over or break, and we can sanitize them in the dishwasher without worrying about plastic warping or melting. And the little rubber part keeps them from scratching the floor, since food is always more delicious when the bowl is being pushed around the room with one's snout.
On a side note- do you have one water bowl for your pets (of the same species) to share? Or multiple bowls?
Dexter and Quincy share one water bowl. We started with two when Quincy was using tiny puppy-sized bowls, but it's much easier now with one.
And since they're on different eating schedules (Quincy must eat by 6:30 am or he stages a protest march, whereas Dexter prefers to sleep until 10), they also use the same food bowl 90% of the time. We have a second food bowl for when they eat at the same time or someone doesn't finish right away, but we rarely need to use it.

We have a very short raised feeder with twin stainless steel bowls and he also has a ceramic water bowl that I made for him at a paint your own pottery place. I actually found his feeder at Harbor Freight, a hardware store. Love it and keep looking to get another.

we have a raised feeder...wrought iron with stainless bowls. and i hate it. sure, it's cute, and sure it's good for the dog's neck. but it's LOUD when he's slurping!
it's come to the point where we had to put a dish towel under the bowls so we didn't hear them clanging!
We have a huge water jug that the dogs and cats all share, then the residents get metal bowls. One of our fosters gets the fancy ceramic blue and tan bowls that were originally Miles' while the other has crate bowls attached to the door.

We have Martha Stewart bowls from PetSmart. I got them on clearance after we moved here for $0.99 each (we have 2), or we would have gone with cheap human-grade bowls from goodwill. Dot doesn't know the difference.
It is this set, but in red - and like I said before, we have two. They go in the dishwasher, which I like.
