So I guess I am jumping right in to IVF now! I went in for my CD3 ultrasound today, and I have cysts on both ovaries. I've never had cysts before that I know of, although ironically my RE says I have PCOS. My ovaries have been hurting the past few days and I was actually wondering if that was what it was. I'm starting birth control tonight to get the ball rolling for IVF.
So do I need to worry about these cysts? I just finished two back to back IUIs, could that have caused them? I feel like all my friends that have had cysts have really been in a lot of pain, but this is just a pretty mild cramping feeling. My RE was not happy they were there, but then kept saying don't worry it's common.
I've had cysts after IUIs before and I think my RE said something about sometomes the follicles that aren't fertilized can turn into cysts (or something like that). In my experoence BCPs have always gotten rid of them. Lupron helps too, and you take that throughout w/ IVF. Good luck!!

I get them a lot even when not cycling. The solution is almost always BCP so you are most likely fine. The BCP should shrink or dissolve them but worst case they hang around and you take BCP longer and put off stims a bit.
