I was reviewing your remodel website and saw that you spray painted the brass shower surround and tub faucets and knobs. Any input on how that is holding up? I'd love to do this to our bathroom - we are replacing the sink faucets but everything else is difficult to replace.
The tenant just wrote that the tub jets (under the waterline) haven't held up at all and it's completely flaked off. She didn't mention the shower surrounds - I can't think of any reason they'd be in really bad shape. I won't know for sure how things look until they move out in 2 weeks. They only had a 6 month lease, so the spray paint on the jets didn't even last that long.
We didn't spray paint anything else - our faucets and doorknobs are all new. Well, we sprayed the hinges, but they don't get touched. I wouldn't spray anything that gets touched routinely. I think that's why the faucets in Jennasue's guest bath still look fine...because they aren't used often.
I spray painted a shower caddy in our previous master bath and it started flaking in about 2 weeks (and it's not like anything sharp was being stored on it, only shampoo and conditioner bottles and a bar of soap).
