I finally found my MN drivers license this weekend, after prompting from your post last week and it expired back in March - opps! the dmv website says I have to go in person to renew it, can't do it online, and I may have to pay extra fees cause I let it expire OPPS! I assume once I go in (will do it next Monday, right after I arrive for a visit) that I will get a piece of paper that I can 'use' to drive in the meantime? I have my Aussie license anyway, but don't know how that works insurance wise for my parent's cars. *sigh*
When H was driving my car in the states (on an OZ DL), I just called my ins co and let them know I was going to have a guest driver. If it had been longer than 90 days I would have had to add him as a named driver on the insurance.

yea usually i drive my parent's cars - they have it insured so any of their kids can drive it - I just don't know if a different license matters hmmm well if I get it renewed on the Monday I guess it shouldn't matter anyhow
When I lived in the states and my Mum came to visit I called my insurance company up and they said that if it was for a visit I didn't need to add her...she has a Lux license.
