on TN. I was never regular but I popped in from time to time and it seemed much busier. What happened? Did a lot of the regulars not make the transition?
The book club board on the Nest is still very active -- very few of the regulars there came over here. This board has always been fairly slow, but we try.

The regulars on TN had the Harry Potter board to use during the transition, so they never had a real need to jump over here. Then they went back to the regular board when TN undid (is that a word?) their "upgrade"
I was a semi-regular over there, but didn't fit in very well, so I came here

It was busy at TN, but I found that everyone was reading the same few books and if you didn't read those you didn't fit in. I wish it were busier here, but it's definitely a nicer group in my opinion, even if it is slow.
I think another contributing factor is that the Nest board has a lot of non-book chatter, while over here posters tend to keep the non-book stuff on other boards.

True story. I've considered putting other stuff here, but wasn't really sure if I should keep it off the board if it isn't directly related. If people want it to be more active even if it "waters downs" the book content, I would be down with it.
I'm a-ok with posts that aren't book talk. I don't know if most people already have a "home" board for more random posts; I have a few boards where I post and others where I mostly just read, but no where in particular to put general stuff.
I'm also fine with non-book posts. I post on MM, CE&P, and occasionally H&F and Travel, but most of these have the occasional (or more!) non-topical post.
