Kari or anyone Is there a website you like with BLW food ideas? Or even ideas for the step after purees? Layla is less and less interested in eating unless it has more texture (could just be a coincidence) so I want to slowly phase out the purees that are ready in my freezer while incorporating more finger foods She had egg today and was very curious and interested in it.
Read the BLW book. I really just give kid whatever I'm eating. For breakfast and lunch, when I generally eat junk, kid eats eggs, oatmeal, sugarless muffins, sausage, or grits for lunch she eats meatballs, cheese, cooked frozen veggies, rice pasta, steamed fresh veggies. My motto is to just try it. You'll be surprised what she can and will eat. It takes awhile catch on but I'm so glad that I hung in. It's so easy now.
Don't get frustrated if she plays more than eats the finger foods for awhile. I put finger foods on the tray every time she ate, just to get her used to the idea. Bananas, pasta, beans, sweet potatoes, shredded cheese, etc. are all good things to start with. I think starting them on finger foods early makes them better eaters later... My kid would rather eat tomatoes than cookies. I've experimented!
But one of the ideas behind BLW is also that it encourages you to eat better I haven't made any special recipes yet. Last night DS had a slice of pork loin, broccoli and a peice of bread.
