We have had to purchase all our hardware for the kitchen and although I was dead-set on putting cup pulls on the drawers, logic/common sense prevailed and we went with regular pulls. Why, you ask? Because a quick sampling of me opening drawers around the house revealed that I have a strong preference for grabbing the pulls from the top, which is not possible with a cup pull. Additionally, the cup pulls would make opening the bottom drawers difficult without bending all the way down. Sooooo, desire for cup pulls, shelved. We also decided given the detail in the kitchen cabinets, that a simpler pull and knob would be better. So we went with these in Antique Pewter (upper left):
It helps that we had a LARGE gift card to the hardware store that sells them, but I think we'd have ended up with them anyhow. We also ended up with Liberty 3/8" inset hinges in rustic pewter. R is concerned that they'll look dirty because of the way Liberty does their pewter finish, but it's better than the nasty rusted-out bronze ones we had.
Also ... we're considering this faucet:
Thoughts? Does it go with what we've got going on already? (The sink is white enamel and not changing until we replace the countertops ... so months to a year)
I love the pulls and the faucet. No sprayer wouldn't deter me (I never use ours). Good call on bending way down to open a bottom drawer with a cup pull.

teeah22 - We actually don't want a pull-down sprayer, I have trouble with making sure things actually go back in place and it seems like one more thing to remember to put back. They do make a model with a sink-level sprayer as an option, and we're considering that, but it's something like an $80 price difference ... so the question is whether or not the sprayer is worth that much to me. I think it is. That model looks like this:
So no change, really, except for a sprayer and a soap dispenser (that we'd never use.)
$80 for a sprayer would be so worth it IMO. The water pressure that comes out of my sprayer is higher so it's better for blasting stuff off, plus it's great for cleaning the sink. I say go for it.
Yes that is why I won't use cup pulls on regularly used drawers. I like the hardware and the finish.
Way back when I first started planning the master bathroom (after we had an accepted offer but before we owned the house) I had those same faucets picked out. A year later we replaced a leaking faucet with a Price Pfister faucet that was on clearance (with the same inside guts as the bathroom version I wanted). Well it was leaking again within 6 months. Turns out it's hard to replace parts on PP faucets and they won't stand by any warranties they say they offer. We would have had to replace the whole faucet to fix the leak so we just lived with it for a few months until that bathroom was demoed. Needless to say we won't be buying anymore PP products.

FoxInFiji - do you think yours was an isolated incident? We've used pfister stuff in other houses without incident and R really likes that their cartridges are ceramic. I'm open to other options, but kitchen faucets in "pewter" finish are tough to find and most are rather ugly, TBH. ETA - I looked at faucetdirect and other than Pfister, our only options appear to be $900+, which, honestly, is ridiculous and way out of our budget.

Yeah it could have been. I was just giving you my experience. And is sounds like you're going to be redoing the kitchen in not too long so maybe it's not as big of a deal.
As far as pewter finishes I really think a brushed nickel would look good with pewter hardware. A special finish like pewter is going to cost a lot more as you noted and I really don't think the faucet has to match the hardware in a kitchen especially something so unique. Will you ever have SS appliances? Because I think BN looks a lot better with SS than pewter.

Good questions - I'd consider brushed nickel finish for the sink. At some point, we'll be replacing the counter and sink and getting a stainless steel 1-bowl instead of the weird ugly enamel two bowl we've got at the moment. We will not be buying any stainless appliances - I don't like them and R doesn't care. White appliances for me, all the way.
I've had similar experiences with PP faucets, we actually used to have a bathroom faucet with the same handle and a spout and it started leaking at 4 mo, surprisingly after a lot of hassle they sent us a new one that started leaking at 6mo, they wouldn't talk to us about that one because they already replaced one once.

Ohhh, this is disappointing to hear. Ok then. I guess I need to widen the search to brushed nickel or stainless-finish faucets.
