Bayonne/Biarritz hotels (Southern France)

Does anyone have great hotel reco's for this area or general thoughts on staying in Bayonne v. Biarritz? We're flying into that area and making our way down the coast to hit the running of the bulls in Pamplona. The plan is to make it down to St. Jean de Luz before crossing into Spain, but I have a day or two to linger in either Biarritz or Bayonne.
