there's nothing the doc can do- so i wouldn't run in.... brown discharge is totally normal- esp that early - can just be from implantation leftover... even red doesn't = always bad. I had brown spotting at 13w with the twins- my OB did a quick US and all was fine.
just take it easy - drink lots of water - and think good thoughts. Likely it's nothing.
It's so person specific I don't think any of us can tell you what it means for you. I would call your doctor's office and see what they tell you to do.
Not to scare you but brown spotting was the first sign of my miscarriage. Hopefully that's not the case for you.
It's common. I had something similar this pregnancy around 5-6w and my OB nurse just told me to take it easy, no sex or exercise until it had stopped. It took a day or two but eventually stopped. At this point, I wouldn't demand to be seen, because I don't think an u/s can tell you much this early anyway, unfortunately.
Have you had sex recently? That can irritate the cervix.
My OB explained it as being common, though not normal. I spotted from wks 5-10, which had my anxiety level through the roof. (my mom had a history of early spotting and loss, which didn't help) It finally stopped around 10weeks and I went on to have a very uneventful pregnancy. I hope that it goes away quickly and doesn't come back.
I spotted off and on during my pregnancy. I always called, and my OB always wanted to see me no matter(in 2nd and 3rd trimester for me, spotting was my only indication of bacterial infections). I'd call for peace of mind.
