I think as long as you buy fresh meat and not frozen products, you'll be fine. Especially if it's labeled "100% USDA Beef" -- I would be pretty confident.
Even here in Europe it's been confined to frozen foods and prepared food products containing meat (like frozen lasagna, hamburger patties, etc), and hasn't been found in any FRESH meat, that I know of.
But hey, that's what you get when people demand cheap prepared food products. 1 pound / 1 euro for a serving of prepared frozen beef lasagna? That's just not possible without cutting all kinds of corners....

I don't know if I really care about the meat content in my meatballs, mostly because I operate under the assumption that I don't want to know what's in ANY processed meat product. So part of me wants to go buy a couple bags of the frozen meatballs from IKEA, just in case. They're like their own food group in my house. (Yes, I know. That's totally healthy.)

Horsemeat was found today to be in a canned ravioli, a French brand. Frozen lasagna and canned ravioli, along with IKEA foods are things I don't usually eat anyway.
