I did that once. I loathe being a bridesmaid.
I just did this recently. Mostly because I just started a new job and couldn't swing the PTO for all the stuff she wanted me to do. I kind of feel bad for being relieved that I don't have to do all that stuff.
Definitely skip it. WAY TOO MUCH NONSENSE too far in advance.
Fwiw, my sister and her FI had dinner (pizza, I think) at their place so we could all meet one another. SOs were invited. Super casual, and lasted until people felt like leaving. I "get" wanting everyone to know each other but at the same time, I just don't understand why it matters.
We did this as our gtg. Everyone knew each other already though other then a few of DH's friends didn't know my sisters.
Op- defiantly don't go. Picking a wedding party that far in advance is a little weird. Who knows you may not be talking to her by then.
