So I did it, I took the plunge, and have my tax info and bank account set up to start my little business! I'll soon be opening an etsy shop with hand painted yarn . So you knitting/crocheting/tatting ladies if you want anything specific now is the time to bring it up! I will gladly take requests. I'm going to be working in cotton and bamboo to start with, no wool or silk (I might get into them later if there's a demand for them).
I'm also considering dying baby/infant/children's clothes. I know a few of you have expressed interest at some point or another in clothes that are solid colored without adornments. I'm getting ready to put together my first supply purchase and I need to know if anyone is interested so I know what to order. My supplier has lots of different styles of clothes to choose from. So my question to you ladies is would anyone be interested in purchasing dyed/tie-dyed clothes for LO?
Tie dyed is definitely nms, but I really like the idea of custom dyed clothing. I'd like to see what you have in mind.
Honestly, the bright, flashy, rainbow tie-dye is NMS either. I've been browsing through etsy though and that's all it seems like is there. I'd like to do something different, more subtle. I need to dig up some of the onesies I tie-dyed for B when she was little (well, littler. Ugh, how can I say "when she was little" already? She's not even a year yet!) and post pictures for you to see.
ETA: found some pictures. I love doing this style of dyeing, and I don't see anything like it on etsy either. The pictures aren't the best quality, but these were some of my favorite outfits to put B in (when they still fit at least)
Oh yes, I am digging the bleaching out shapes. I am the worst person to ask about pricing, but I would be willing to pay $10-$12 for something like that. If it is something I REALLY wanted/needed, maybe $15? Again, I am not good with placing value on textiles or other merchandise.
