C has started a trend this winter of developing a fever in the middle of the night, no other major symptoms some coughing on Monday, and then during the day is fine. Perhaps looks a bit tired, but ok and no more fever.
Non-mom checking in. How do you know they develop a random fever in the middle of the night? Are they incredibly hot to touch, or do you frequently take their temperature?
What is the temp? My pedi still goes by the 100.4 rule for ds.
It was 101.3 at about 2:30 am. When I put her to bed she felt a little warm to me and I thought she might be on the way to a fever.
It seems like this has happened before after being at our next door neighbor's house, so I am thinking either someone was getting over something over there or there is something that bothers her system. They have tons of animals and we have noticed her getting sniffly while being over there in the past.
She is a little sniffly, so perhaps it is just part of this cold or whatever. Appetite is good as are her spirits. Provided she does not wake up with a fever again, she will go to school tomorrow. **crosses fingers**
On the opposite end, DS has had one now since Friday. He was dx with an ear infection on Friday and was put on Amox, but usually the fever is gone the next day. Not sure why this one is still hanging on. Pedi said if he still has it tomorrow to bring him in. Hmmm...
