My day just improved dramatically

I teach middle school. Today is our belated "Valentine's Day" field trip to the local roller skating rink. I hate that place-- it smells like teenage feet and pimples, and is COVERED in red, velvet-like carpeting (like, everything from the floor to the benches to the walls). It's so gross, and while it's fun to watch the kids and chat with my coworkers, I'd really prefer to not spend the rest of the day covered in that smell. And, the bathrooms. Eww (normally, I wouldn't mind, but I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and I'd have to go, like 5 times in the 2 hours we'd be there, and, well, eww).

The coordinator just stopped me in the hall and said, basically, "You must be really sensitive to smell these days. Do you want to stay here? [Guy from the tech department] said he'd go."

So now, I'm blasting Pandora (thank you, George Michael), and getting a ton of work done. I have three hours to myself!

LOL. My teaching partner just sent me this email:

7B is singing the bubonic plague version of Holla Back Girl.

[7th grade boy] is spending his life savings at the candy crane.

More than one child has an ice pack on his/her wrist/knee/ankle.

And about half of them are eating cup a noodle.
