When I first started using the Bare Minerals foundation over 4 years ago, it made a dramatic difference in my skin. My skin is so sensitive and I really wanted something light and more natural.
In the last year, it's really stopped being a good thing for me. I like the way it looks but it makes my face itchy and caused breakouts at one point. I tried switching brushes, cleaning brushes (which is tricky because a lot of brush cleaners irritate my skin).
I have combination skin and was thinking about switching to something like Clinique because I know it's good for sensitive skin.
Does anyone use Clinique or have recommendations for something that is relatively natural/hypoallergenic?
I used to use BE every day until I started breaking out too and then I found out that there's some kind of chemical in there that some people develop sensitivities/allergies to after a while, which is what happened to me, and likely to you. I totally moved over to liquid foundations as a result, and it just looks a lot better for me, considering fine lines etc. Tarte is all natural and there are a few other brands as well.

I've used Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Powder. It doesn't irritate my skin and I like the coverage. However, I have to use it with the right brush, because it's not as finely milled as some other powders and with the wrong brush I end up with too much product and it looks unnatural. I use the EcoTools large powder brush with it. I have VERY sensitive skin, so I think it's probably worth trying. It's only $12 or so, and CVS often has pretty good deals like $5 extrabucks with a $10 PF purchase.
Also, I use Monistat Chafing Gel as primer and it helps a lot with the sensitivity AND makes my makeup look better. Win win!
I actually just got Bare Minerals as an upgrade to Physician's Formula - I'm looking forward to finding out which I like better.
I was actually in the same boat as you last fall--after using Bare Minerals for years, it wasn't working for me. I switched back to Clinique, which is what I wore years ago when I first started wearing make-up. I love their city base, but they are discontinuing it
Purminerals is a brand I would suggest as well. You can buy it in a pressed compact, and it feels very light. @champagna is right, though, they don't have a vast selection of shades.
