I rarely post here, but I thought this would be the best place to ask.
Last night around 8:00, I noticed my dog walking with a limp on one of her hind legs. It came on really suddenly. My H checked her paws and didn't see anything. We didn't do anything unusual yesterday. (I work from home so I am with her all day) She didn't seem to be in pain and her personality was normal.
This morning when we got up around 7, no limp. So I figured it must have been a cramp or something stuck in her paw that we couldn't see. Just in case though, I didn't walk her this morning so she could keep resting it. Now, it's 10:30 am here, and she's limping again (though not as noticeably as last night).
Try to take her to the vet this afternoon? Wait another day to see if it clears up on its own and get her in tomorrow?
FWIW, I don't love my vet, but he does have Saturday hours. He pushes the upsell hard, and I think he would put her through unnecessary stuff. I have been procrastinating on finding a new one, and am regretting it now.
Is she still acting normal otherwise? If it doesn't seem to be bothering her, I'd probably wait. (And I'd start researching new vets, while it was on my mind. You might possibly find someone new who could get her in tomorrow.)

I agree if she is still acting normal otherwise I would just find a new vet and make an appointment. It could be a luxating patella. One of my dogs has this, it's where the knee cap kind of dislodges and he'll start to limp (it's his back leg). It usually only lasts a very short while then he's fine. I know the first time he starting limping it freaked me out though. My vet told me that they could do surgery but that there wasn't any guarantee that it would fix it and that they only recommended the surgery if it was causing a lot of pain for my dog. Luckily, it doesn't happen very often so we've just been living with it. It would find a new vet (I hate the pushy upselling people) and have it checked out to make sure it's nothing more serious.
This happens to our dog a lot. We just try to keep her quiet(er) for a few days and she seems fine. As long as your dog is still eating and not acting like he's in pain (other than the limp) I wouldn't worry too much. I'd give it 3 or 4 days and take him in only if it's not getting better.
My golden gets this from time to time, it's typically because she just overdoes it--running after tennis balls, jumping to catch them, chasing squirrels....or sometimes, I think she just lays on her front leg weird.
