I think it's too soon BUT the surgeon said everything went well, the fever broke, DH is moving around well, and there's no reason for him to stay another day. DH smiled for the first time in a long time.
We got home right around 1:30 p.m. and he was sitting in his chair for a little while, but I put him to bed and made him get some rest.
I want to take a nap but i have to go pick up his meds in 30 minutes so I'm just going to sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet for thirty minutes.
I found another casserole on my back porch: Lasagna from my sister.
It smells delicious but I'm not going to eat it because of the pasta so I cut it up into individual servings and put it in the freezer. I'm certain one day will come soon when I don't want to cook and DH is hungry "right now".
Maybe I will lay down for 20 minutes. I"ll just have to set the timer on my phone so I don't forget to pick up his Rx. Too bad they don't deliver!
Oh, and haha, the colace finally kicked in. DH said that alone made him feel 100% better.

Yay for being home and yay yay yay for poop!!
I remember taking my dad to the hospital for something several years ago and he hasn't pooped in ten days and was in so much pain. We went to the 24 hour pharmacy, have them the prescription, and they said it was going to be something like a 90 minute wait. I went into mama bear mode and pulled the pharmacist aside. I told her "I feel really terrible asking for special treatment when you have this many people waiting for their prescriptions, but my father hasn't had a bowel movement in ten days. He is in an extraordinary amount of pain and I need to get him home and medicated RIGHT NOW."
We had the prescription in something like threes minutes.

I'm glad he was able to come home, and super glad he was able to poop. Seriously, is there any feeling better than taking a nice big poop after being constipated?
