My bedding was delivered today! I am so excited! It looks a little darker in person than in the picture, but I still really like it. Now, I have to decide on two things: wall paint and a headboard fabric. First, this is the headboard I am leaning towards getting.
I ordered some fabric swatches that also arrived today. Here is a picture of the three swatches with the throw pillow to give you an idea of what the bedding looks like. The colors are (left to right) Groupie Praline, Glitz Filbert and Twill Chocolate (sorry, it has a little lint or fuzzies on it). Which one do you think looks best?
Also, any suggestions on paint color? I am not sure whether to go with purple, beige/cream/tan or a different color (green, maybe?). I would love some ideas. TIA! ;D
If you are not afraid of color, I would choose some shade of purple for the wall and then any of the colors would work for the headboard (although I am partial to the Twill Chocolate)

I like the center swatch the best, then the left and the right. (I like neutral for expensive stuff because you can switch out easier. Technically brown is a neutral, but I don't think brown and gray work well together. And that's my opinion alone.) And ditto purple walls.

Thanks for all the responses. It's unanimous then, purple walls it is. I was leaning in that direction, but now I am sure that is what I will do. Now I just have to decide on a shade of purple.
I am quite torn between Groupie Praline and the Twill Chocolate. I like them both a lot. It is harder for me to picture the former on a headboard, though. emoflamingo, I like to choose neutral when it comes to expensive things also. You are not alone on the gray/brown viewpoint. I concur!

The praline is definitely more brown. No, I haven't. I didn't even think to do that. I will see what I come up with. I do like being able to get swatches ahead of time to see what the color actually looks like though, so I would prefer to find somewhere that I can get swatches. I got two other chocolate swatches (one in linen and another in velvet, DH hated the velvet) and they looked so different from each other. The Twill Chocolate looks more espresso, to me anyway.
I really like the praline, too. I would also be super worried that the chocolate would always be covered in lint and that would bug the crap out of me.
I'm between the first two (left and center) for the headboard. The chocolate swatch is beautiful but if the swatch is already showing lent that bad imagine it in full headboard size, that would drive me insane!

I hadn't thought of the lint being that much of an issue, but I know it would drive me crazy! I still really think it is pretty. I really like the praline a lot, though. Would it be more versatile do you think? Would it tend to look dated or out of style because it isn't solid (for some reason, I think plain equals classic)?

I like the middle one the best, by far. I think the one on the left will have too much texture with the tufts, and the dark one is too masculine. The one on the left actually reminds me a bit of burlap, and the middle one looks the most like linen to me, which makes it look more expensive. Another vote for purple walls, though.
