why do you think you wouldn't go back? I went to a UU church once. I was looking for something less conservative than mine. It was a little TOO liberal for me.

This is how I felt, too. Turns out, even thought I don't identify as Christian anymore, I like a more traditional service for meditation or w/e. The bells and candles and stuff just weirded me out. Too new age-y
Interesting is right. I worked at a UU church as event set-up back in college. At my interview I was asked if I knew what UU was all about, I said no. I worked there for almost a year and I still have no idea. I had a hard time taking the religion seriously since it seemed like a club for well-off agnostic liberals. Sunday school lessons were about other religions and environmentalism. They hosted some fun activities (pagan conferences, indoor farmers markets, bar/bat mitzvahs) that all had organic/gluten-free/hippydippy catering so I was a happy ignorant (and well-fed) camper.
Despite the lack of an obvious direction, I would probably seek out a UU center if I felt the need to have my future child involved in a spiritual community.
