Let's say that you tell a company that your child wears size 6-12 months. If they were going to send you clothes would you expect them to send you the 6-9m size or the 12m size?
No joke. My MIL always buys clothes based on my kids' ages, regardless of what size I say they are when she asks. Then she explains it as "well that's the size they're supposed to be at this age", well darn I guess my giant children didn't read the instruction manual

12 mo of course - babies do this annoying thing called 'growing'.
Wait - how old is the baby? If the baby is 6/7 mo old then they might send 6-9 since that would be there current 'size'. Ideally they would also ask the babies approximate height and weight since the sizing will vary from company to company.
