Almost all of the above. I borrow some from the library, use the LendMe feature on my Nook, buy some e-books, and order some online. It depends on the book and my mood.

Almost exclusively the library. When I get into a more permanent living situation with more storage space, I hope to have an office/library that I can fill with my favorites.

Mainly bookstores. I should get in the habit of visiting the library, but frankly the library here has a poor selection, and not many of the US series I read are available.
I use the library. They are currently re-doing the entire thing (have been for a year and a half) and I am excited for it to open in the next few months. Although I will miss having the temporary library right around the corner from me, I am really looking forward to the new one.
I've never had friends that like to read so I've never been able to borrow from them. I do own around 50 books but as I don't re-read them (with the exception of the HP series) I don't see the point in taking up space.
The library constitutes about 97% of my reading. The rest, I download (for free or buy through my nook) or borrow or buy from used or retail bookstores.
I do prefer to buy most of my reading material but it gets so expensive and I just don't have the space.
Library almost exclusively. I only buy books I want to re-read -- we already own tons of books, so my urge to have a home library is quite satisfied, and really I can't afford to buy all the books I read. I borrow some from friends and family and occasionally buy $1-ish books from used book stores or library sales. We have one of the best library systems in the country, so I can get pretty much anything I want there.
Similar to others, I'll buy books I know I'll want to re-read (HP, The Hunger Games, The Help, etc.).
Sometimes I'll get hooked on a series and buy the next book because I'm not patient. If it isn't something I want to keep to re-read, I'll give it to my mom or trade it for credit at the used bookstore near my apartment.
The majority are from the local used book store these days. That way I can feel good both about reusing and saving money without having to deal with library deadlines. Some I keep, some I sell back when I'm done.
I also keep tabs on Kindle's "100 books for $3.99 or less" that gets updated monthly and buy those occasionally. I refuse to pay full retail for a Kindle book that I'm not allowed to loan to a friend when I'm done with it.
Also friends and Kindle library loans on occasion.
Will anyone admit to acquiring ebooks without buying or borrowing from the library?
Unless you mean borrowing from friends or a Lendle-like service, I'm not sure how else you would get them -- at least no ways that are strictly speaking not stealing them.
Library and interlibrary loan for most of them. If I can't get a book that way, I will buy the ebook. If I love a book, I will buy a physical copy, usually from amazon.

We have some really great used bookstores around here that tend to have 90% of what I want. I also use the library for the rest. It's pretty rare that I buy/order new books.
I try to use the library whenever possible. I have cards from a couple of systems and they both offer ebooks and audiobooks, so most of the time I can download a digital or borrow a physical copy.
Failing that, or in the case of a really good deal or something I just HAVE to own, I'll buy the Nook book or get a used copy from Better World Books if the ebook is too expensive. I try to avoid buying physical books unless the price differential is significant.
Even when I was an interlibrary loan librarian, for some reason I never really used interlibrary loan. Stupid of me, I know.

I don't disagree that it is unethical, but I know a few people IRL that do this. I'm curious how widespread it is, especially among a group of avid readers, though I understand that it's not something people would feel comfortable broadcasting in a public forum.
Amazon mainly, for both new and used. Barnes and Noble if I'm hanging out there with some friends. I don't use my library, but I am a member so that I can go to the used book sales that they have every month.
I have a Kindle but rarely use it. I mainly download long books that I don't want to carry around, like Harry Potter, The Bronze Horseman, Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc. but I also have physical copies of them.
I have a ton of room for books in our guest room. Many many bookcases.
I'd say I borrow 90% from the library, either in physical or e-book form. I buy the occasional book on my Nook and have borrowed a few with the LendMe feature. The only time I buy an actual paper book is if I find it at a thrift store.
