Any injuries/problems?
nope, just the weather which I am hating on something fierce right now
Any highlights from last week to AW?
8 miles on Sunday...went well despite it being a lot colder than I had hoped
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training?
eh? not really. He is athletic and loves sports, but he doesn't like lifting or running more than 3 miles. He understands and encourages me.
Sorry for the late post. I've been chasing my supposedly sick toddler around all morning. He doesn't sit still. I hope he feels better soon! Mostly so you can take a break.
What event are you training for? Date? A half on 4/7, but really the half on 5/5

Any injuries/problems? My left achilles and left hip are super tight. That's what happens when you sit on your ass for weeks at a time.
Any highlights from last week to AW? not in performance, but in location...my super easy 6 miles in Balboa Park was beautiful! I wish I had done the 8 miles there.
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training?
not really. He works out 4-5 times a week, and eats well, but for him it's about losing weight/maintaining health. For me, it's about racing. He does understand my passion though, which makes it easier for me to do my thing.

Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? he works out because he wants to be fit. he's more of a recreational jogger than a runner. he'll run with me but it tells me to 'save it for your racing group' if I'm going too fast.

Any highlights from last week to AW? Finally had a decent week of running (42 miles), but still nothing exciting to report.

What does your training schedule look like for the week? M-arms1 T-3 miles/pilates W-arms2/yoga R-4 miles/yoga F-Rest S-6 miles S-2 miles/abs/legs This might change if I ever renew my gym membership. I'll add cycling to the mix.
Any injuries/problems? Not really. My legs feel heavy but I think it's a combo of the cold and leg conditioning. Since everything else is behaving, I'll take tired, heavy legs.
Any highlights from last week to AW? I actually ran all scheduled miles and woke up early to do it. It felt really good!
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training?
Yep. He got me started with lifting which is really what got me to love working out. He's always encouraging me and he writes lifting routines for me. His BFF is a pro-bodybuilder so he lifted with him until DH moved up here. Now he does BJJ 3-4x a week and lifts 3x a week. He's been known to go to BJJ for rolling and conditioning and then head to the gym to lift the day he's off work. Also, I will spend all day at his BJJ tournaments (all day!) so he can't whine (too much!) when he has to come to my races. ;-) He runs but it's a new thing and only because he should and he's training for his police physical.
Survivor Mud Run in July. I've never done anything remotely like it, either race or obstacle wise.

Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training
Now that we're on the same page, yes. However, we can't get in each other's way or comment on how we are training because we end up irritating each other. We do share each day's successes though, so it's been fun.
What event are you training for? Date? Gate River Run 15k (3/9/13) Tour de Pain Half (3/30/13)

Any highlights from last week to AW? I already AW"d this, but it's the only highlight I have from a crappy week. 5 miles at 7:37 pace.
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? Not really. He used to, and he's getting back there. He shares my passion for healthy living, I just don't think he's found an activity he loves like I love running. Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? he is happy I train and love to run, but he hates running. He is very athletic though and does a few cycling events a year and sometimes he loves training for them and sometimes he does not (last year he did a century without being on a bike for more than 10 miles in 10 months...?)
What event are you training for? Date? Sprint Tri 4/20, 1/2 Marathon 4/27 (or maybe the other way around, I can't remember for sure!). All in prep for 70.3 in Aug.

Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? He's a former pro athlete, and is now a college coach, so he gets out there every day with his guys. He lifts regularly, and we ride our road bikes together (not much in the winter). He's not in to running distance, but I'm slowly chipping away at him to get him to join me
What event are you training for? Date? RNR DC Half 3/16

Any highlights from last week to AW? Nothing too exciting, I had a very rough 11 miler on Sunday. I finished which is the most important thing.
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? We've run a few races together, but he's not fully committed. He has the potential, but not the passion. He only runs usually when he's training for a race. Other than that, his visits to the gym are very sporadic.

Any injuries/problems? Not really -- aches and pains but nothing significant.
Any highlights from last week to AW? I'm now at a point in my training where every Sat long run is my longest run I've ever completed. Pretty cool feeling! Last week was 15.
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? Hmmm, definitely not to my level. He either bikes or runs 3-4x per week for health purposes but he doesn't necessarily love it and definitely doesn't care to do races unless we are doing them together for fun.
What does your training schedule look like for the week? M - strength T - 5 miles easy W - 7 miles Th - 40 min tempo F - 5 miles GHMP S - rest S - 10 miles
Any injuries/problems? I was having some foot swelling and very mild soreness. After giving it a few days I think it's the result of tightness in my foot and leg so I'm rolling and stretching the hell out of everything but I was able to run today with no issue during and some very mild soreness after. I'll keep an eye on it. Unfortunately, since I skipped the 10 I had scheduled last Sunday, I'm going to be making it up this weekend when I'm post-call and I always feel like I've taken a beating when I get off on those mornings with no sleep. It's going to be slow and craptastic.
Any highlights from last week to AW? Nothing particular to last week but my paces are continuing to improve and it's so exciting for me! I think a sub-4:00 in Chicago is going to be very possible.
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? He works out pretty diligently but he does it for the end results. He doesn't just love working out or running for its own sake the way I do.
What event are you training for? Date? First Half Marathon on June 15. Considering doing a sprint triathlon 2 weeks later.
What does your training schedule look like for the week? M: 30 minute run T: 40 minute cross (walked with my mom) W: 30 minute run R: 45 minute JM' video with weights F: Rest S: 4 Miles S: Rest - This is the first week of training.
Any injuries/problems? Not yet! I have not run consistently since last fall so I am easing back into this.
Any highlights from last week to AW? I did not gain weight with being home with my DH following his back surgery. Being home all day around food and stressed out from dogs and surgery, I thought for sure I would gain weight and I did not!
Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? Working out yes, racing not really. He is a cyclist (road and mountain). He has completed races but does not enjoy them. He rides at least 5 times a week in the spring and summer. For me, having a training program and working towards a race keeps me motivated. But he will be supportive every step of the way!

Does your H/SO share your passion for working out/training? My partner has MS, so she can't be as active as me, though she is supportive.
spunkypenguin Good luck at Shamrock! I had a great race there a couple of years ago, and if you've been training on hills, you'll definitely reap the benefits of a flat/fast course. Excited for you!

Thanks shelbyann! I'm super excited. I pegged this as my first half before I even started running because of all the great reviews I've heard. I have been registered since June lol
