My H set up our moving appointment (for our pcs to Guam) and we we're sorting some stuff and we keep getting mixed answers on this: Can we take any liquids? I have a few bottles of perfume and some expensive hair products that I don't really want to toss out. I am sure I can mail them if I cant ship them with our HHG I was just wondering if any of you had any idea. .
You can't mail perfume since it is flammable liquid. I would make room for it in my checked luggage. That's what I would do with all my important crap.

Ah yes perfume is flammable. I never thought about putting it in my checked luggage. For some reason my brain thinks you can't take any liquid over 6oz on the plane at all.. Is the reason they don't want liquid just for the mess it could make? From what I understand they send it all on a boat and I just don't understand why it would be an issue.
I would just ziplock bag everything. I've had shampoo explode before. Different moving companies have different policies. I would check with the moving company. TMO would be able to tell you who it would be.

My Dad works for the post office and he said if I have to mail any of it I have to ziplock it anyway so I have most of it in a Tupperware container ready to be bagged up if it needs to be. I will ask them about it all when they get here thank you

With our recent move to Germany, the movers were more particular about liquids. Our stuff was in transit for over two months--there was more opportunity for liquids to explode or leak. And, if things were damaged, being overseas, it would be more difficult to replace (and, I think, though I could be wrong, not covered by insurance since liquids aren't supposed to be transported). For the things that I did move/mail/pack in my suitcase, I double bagged in Ziplock bags and, for move/mail--I wrapped the bags in moving tape. I may have gone overboard--but, I didn't want to have wasted money on my Aveda hair products and I didn't want to deal with the clean-up.

When we moved to China, we were able to send things like that in one of our shipments. I think the one on the boat. The air shipment we couldn't, but the boat shipment, we had all kinds of liquids sent - shampoos, conditioners, face stuff, olive oil, etc etc.
Although it's not entirely related to your question, my very important word of advice regarding mailing things to yourself (things you don't want the movers to touch) is be sure to remove the batteries from adult toys before you attempt to mail them. Failure to do so could result in a very embarrassed husband standing in the post office while the clerk suggests he take the vibrating box outside for repacking.
LOL I can just picture this! Great visual! And yeah PP just put it in your checked baggage. You can check all the liquid you want provided it isn't on their banned list (stove fuel etc).
