...at least they like the free stuff in my front yard.
Saturday DH and I put out some furniture with free signs, but it was on the lawn which isn't necessarily visible from the street. I mentioned that anything we put out on the lawn and front porch is up for grabs to the next door neighbor on her way out, and several other neighbors.
A neighbor from across the street came over to ask me about our move and left with a small sofa table from Bombay. She also wound up with two wood/microfiber chairs w/ottomans from Target. She kept telling me how much she liked my taste, but didn't have room for all of the stuff. I saw her last night and she kept telling me how much they love the chairs and how much more comfortable they are than their old sofa was. The cushions and covers were in great condition, and the chairs were sturdy...the wood is just not high quality and our old border collie mix scratched the arm of one chair and the finish is just not great and the edges show wear. I'm glad they don't care....she even offered to give me some money for them.
We went to the store and out for dinner, and when we came back the bench on casters (made from a lack shelving unit with storage baskets from World Market) , a wrought iron plant stand with marble tile top, and a writing table were gone, along with a candle sconce and a couple of other little items.
There wasn't any more furniture, but I added miscellaneous stuff to the boxes on the front porch on Sunday, was gone all day yesterday, but added more to the porch today and realized that there were quite a few other things gone.
I am so glad that all of that is gone and I didn't have to deal with listing it on CL, but kind of wish that I knew who has the stuff now. I just want it to go to a good home. ;p
I hope we can get rid of the futon and the 'pretending to be built ins' from the office next weekend.
