Pardon my oh-so-classy trash can (I tend to.. snack in bed in the middle of the night), but...
They are the Canopy ones from Wal-Mart. My sister had one and I thought it looked pretty nice and it matches our bed and dresser, so I bought 2. (H's isn't pretty like mine on top because he just has a laptop there for now -- I have to dig through our storage unit for his lamp I bought that matches mine. And yes, that's a hand. I impulse bought it at Gordman's for like $4 and I put my ring on it.)
So I was just reading reviews on those nightstands and somebody complained that they had cardboard as the bottom of the cabinet and drawer? Are they full of it and it's just mdf or particle board, or is it really cardboard? Thinking about getting a cheap storage bed with these to match to last us the first couple years in our house but the cardboard review threw me off.
I wouldn't say it's cardboard, it's more like a particle board. I mean, it's not like PB quality or anything, but I got two for $100 so I'm not expecting the world. I wouldn't overload it with everything you could fit in there, but it's not like I don't trust it (I may move my trash can in there lol). My sister has had the same one for like... 2 years? And it's held up pretty well. It's definitely something that would hold up in a guest room for awhile unless you run a B&B out of your house.
And my H put them together (the first one I helped a little with the instructions because they only use pictures and he is not great with directions -- sorry honey!) and it took him like 10 minutes. So not too bad at all.

Awesome! I'm not worried if it's just particle board, I'm the queen of cheap furniture here with a mix of Ikea and Ashley (trashley) Thin glue+wood product doesn't scare me.

I don't buy expensive furniture myself because SOMEONE *cough* see signature *cough* destroys it. Like the C&B TV stand my MIL bought me for my birthday a few years ago. I had to buy a replacement base because it's chipped and the things holding the doors in broke, but you can't buy just the doors. So no harm, no foul I guess. And I learned how to clean microfiber pretty fast (rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle + a neutral colored scrubby sponge, then use a carpet brush to brush it out when dry).

I was just looking at those tables online today! Would you mind sharing your secret to such a great price? Looks like they are going for $150/each now. :/

I also want that hand! My Gordman's has had it for years and for some strange reason I'm totally drawn to it. I have a spot in my bathroom that would love it. It was more than $4.00 at mine though for some reason..but the second that baby clearance's out it's probably mine!

That hand caused a HUGE panic attack last week. I showed my friend how I put my ring on it and forgot about it. 10 minutes later, as I was on the computer, I realized my ring wasn't on and I thought I had left it at Target. I cried when I remembered it was here as I was hauling ass down my driveway.
Nice! I have a suggestion: If you do not absolutely NEED the storage space in the bottom part of the bedside table and you want to keep a small trash can--- I would take the door off, place a cute small container (basket or metal trash can to match your lamp) in that space rather than on the floor. Keep your remotes in the top drawer.

I did end up putting the trash can in the door (because the stand without the door looked funny -- that was the last step to assembling it, putting the door on). I'm not terribly worried about the remotes. The TV is out in the open. Plus, I'm too terribly cheap to buy a new trash can (I need carrots instead lol) and I'd probably lose the stinkin remotes in my drawer. It's full of crap (because I got lazy and stopped cleaning out the baskets for the thing I used to have there).
