I had my second appointment with the maternal/fetal specialist who is watching my gestational diabetes. She said my blood sugars that I've been sending in look good and it's "unlikely" that I'll end up needing insulin this late in the game.
Baby is estimated at 5lb4oz (yeah, I know how accurate those guesses are!), which is right at the 50th percentile.
I'll see her again at 38 weeks, so hopefully the baby will still be measuring average and they won't pressure me to induce early, which I really want to avoid.
Good news! But just a heads up, early inductions with GD are not just because of the size of the baby, with GD the placenta matures faster which is also a reason a lot of docs induce at 39 weeks with GD. But like with most other things you can say no if you don't agree with it. In my case I did agree with the induction.
