I had my appointment with my new doctor yesterday, and she prescribed me Protonix to try and help control my stomach acid, but she also said that I should start taking a fiber supplement before we try a prescription for my more recent lower GI issues. Does anyone take one and have any recommendations of what to try and/or what to avoid?
My GI made it very clear that fiber is the devil for people with Chron's during a flare up. I'm supposed to experiment and see what foods I can tolerate - the only absolute is no fiber. Lol. She put me on a low residue diet. There is lots of info online for this.

Well, shit, that's the exact opposite of what she told me! Haha. Then again, I've never been tested for Crohn's and she didn't seem to think my lower GI issues are as big of a deal as my nausea and stomach acid issues. I'll definitely look into the low residue diet, though, and bring it up to her if the fiber doesn't help or makes it worse.

I'm on the same low residue diet too. Lunch today was white rice. I was told to stay away from anything fiber
I find that fibre in foods (whole grains, beans, etc) are the devil. But metamucil changed my life. Every day, I was taking one spoonful and having the perfect BM the following day.

You might try Chia Seeds. After a year on Metamucil, I switched my DD to Chia seeds, and she is doing much better with her bathroom issues. They also have a lot of omega-3,
