What little things are making your day/things you're excited about? Or what's on your mind.
Here are mine:
1. I'm making enchiladas for dinner. It's been years (H hates them) and they're nothing fancy but I'm excited! I'm going to make double batch for my neighbor who has just been diagnosed with cancer. She has 5 kids and is the sweetest. She appreciates any food I bring her. It was my Lent goal to be more charitable, so I've been bringing her dinner once a week.
2. I just got Rubes a new pair of New Balance sneakers. They're gray, aqua and pink with a small glitter strip. I wish they made them for big people. She loves them too apparently. She keeps pointing at her toes saying "OOO" and giggling.
3. Rubes gets to go back to daycare tomorrow. We were on a break due to licensing issues (nothing bad. Think stupid government paperwork). She misses her friends (although her and grandpa have really bonded lately). It only gets me another 6 weeks but I'll be done with school by then and after July she can go all the time, anytime. I'm sending her 2 days a week in summer. One so I can farm, the other so I can do me things. I'm stoked. Daycare is way more fun for her than me anyways.
4. The school I work in is full of problems. Big time issues from curriculum to home life to funding. You name it, we have it. I'm in charge of a couple committees divided by grade level to address some of these problems. One of the teachers wrote, "I prefer the kids no longer receive ranch at lunch with their veggies. It contributes to obesity." I busted out laughing. For cryin' out loud we have kids who barely get fed at home, muchless seen a carrot stick, kids bringing knives to school and making threats and you're worried about ranch?" I'll get right on that! LOL.
5. After my tacky shower gift post the other day, I finally found a gift. Her BBB registry was 100xs better. Definitely not my style but better. I sent her a set of the Mikasa dishes she registered for. I think they're ugly, (some heart shaped, love, mushy stuff pattern) but at least they're quality and acceptable.

I love your Lent goal.
Me: I am blissfully spending the entire day in bed with my laptop, propped up on pillows. A winter storm began pushing through the area last night, and it's been raining, blowing and snowing all day, and I am happy to say I have no plans to get out of bed today.
1. I register DD for Kindergarten tomorrow. I'm happy and depressed at the same time. 2. Tomorrow is mine and DD's "Girls Lunch" day. We go to Home Goods and then have Hibachi/Sushi lunch. It's my favorite part of the week. 3. The fresh flowers I bought to accessorize my kitchen are still alive. That makes me happy. 4. I'm woke up at 6am and did 3 Insanity workouts each day. 2 more days and I'll be in the zone.
Your lent goal is awesome. Sending your neighbor some good juju with your enchiladas!
I got a promotion last week! I'm pretty pumped about that.
I also finally kicked a 3 day migraine and had a super productive day. Made lasagna for dinner, going to have a fun night in with DH.
I go to SF for work on Friday. I don't have much to do for work so Friday night I get to catch up with a friend over dinner. Saturday I have some work stuff but plan on shopping and parking my ass at a beautiful outdoor cafe with a good book. Maybe a massage. Lots of work Sunday and Monday.
My neighborhood rocks. Someone snow blowed our driveway and sidewalk today. We are having an Easter egg hunt for all the kiddos at our place in a couple of weeks. I'm in charge of mimosas and bloody Mary's. YUM.
Our new mattress makes me SO happy. It's huge, so I can sleep snuggled with R - or not (he's really warm, so whether or not I want to touch him depends on whether or not I'm cold). And the latex is ridiculously comfortable. Overall, hooray!

Do you like Insanity? I just bought the condensed 20 minute version and it arrived today. I'm excited to try. I don't ahve time for the long version (I like to run and do other stuff as well) so I thought it'd be fun to have. I'm a strong girl for the most part, but I'm kind scared..lol.
Ugh. I really had a pretty crummy day. My students were terrible, and it's ISAT (state standardized testing) week, which doesn't help anything. So... honestly... what's making me happy right now is this giant glass of Moscato that I'll probably refill a few times before bed. Also, my snuggly puppy sleeping next to me is pretty wonderful. He's always a mood lifter.
1. A kiddie theme park that I used to go to as a child opens in 17 days and I can't wait to take our nephew there. He's three now and at an age where he can enjoy it. I have such great memories from there as a kid and can't wait to go back using my nephew as the prop to allow me to go in and be a big kid!
2. Two weeks until it's officially spring (let's just hope the weather pays attention to that!). It's been a long, cold fall/winter here on the Jersey Shore and even though there's still so much devastation around, I am looking forward to getting outside and I think the nice weather, flowers, trees turning green will make people happier around here.
3. I am starting to be able to think about taking a much needed vacation. That makes me happy!
1: My kid had an awesome day at kindergarten and a playdate afterward in which he interacted with kids his own age. That's huge in our house - and we really needed a day like today
2: my other kid is like ridiculously crazy cute these days. She sang happy birthday to me when i came home from work - my birhtday is in august.
3: My passport came back with my visa for a trip in a couple of weeks. There's always a little bit of worry that it will get lost in a shuffle or visas will be denied for whatever random reason, so that makes me happy. And the trip makes me happy - meetings that will kick off a project we've been planning for a year, and fulfills a march 4th goal of mine from 2 years back

1. Baby W is finally getting the hang of eating things on spoons. Which is one step closer to independent meal time where I get to eat WARM FOOD! Yay!!!
2. I've scheduled a cut and color for Saturday at 4 p.m. so I think I'm going to have a "me" afternoon. I want to go to the thrift store and get my hair did and be alone for awhile.
3. My baby sister is engaged and I am the MOH. I was all "YEAH!!!" because I have only been in one wedding. Next year, I'm in TWO in (possibly) two weeks!

I watched a friends two kids for 11 hours today. It SUCKED. I don't know if I have naturally tidy kids, or if I am just awesome at teaching my kids to pick up after themselves, but my kids do not just pull every single toy out all at once when they play. Well, these kids did pull every single toy out, and they threw fits when I made them clean up. And that was after I had put away a bunch of the toys with lots of pieces!
Yesterday I cleaned and replaced our dryer hose, and removed and recaulked our shower stall. The way I'm patting myself on the back you'd think I built an entire house on my own, LOL. Baby steps to becoming better at DIY around the house...
I am finally losing weight, which made us pull the trigger for a trip to go back to S Fl to visit friends soon! I think I can pull off a bikini, which makes me pumped. We are going to have temps in the 60's this weekend so that is very exciting too!
We're going to New Orleans this weekend. The best part is that it's supposed to be 70 and sunny all weekend!
I got to do some cool Save The World/Make A Difference work yesterday where I volunteer. You know, sticking up for the poor and downtrodden. I can't tell you about it, but it was very rewarding
H started a new job this week and so far its going well. It has great potential for growth and pays much better than any other positions he considered.
Because of said job, I get 1-2 hours of time to myself in the morning which this introvert NEEDS. I'm a much nicer person when I have time to myself. (Disregard that I now get up at 5:30 every morning. I'm still adjusting to that.)
I bought a humidifier yesterday and slept so much better last night because of it.
