What would you girls think about a sticky sub-board where we can post to swap or sell items? We could swap items from our subscription services, and even swap and sell clothing and accessories when cleaning out our closets. Obviously, it's swap/sell at your own risk and there is no guarantee that you won't get screwed, but I know I'd feel comfortable swapping with or selling to a regular.
What do you think? Would you participate?
Pixy - it looks like we can sticky a thread, but if girls are interested in this, should we run it by the administrators I guess?
I think this would be fun and also a good way to keep things active over here and differentiate ourselves from the Nest board.
It would depend on how much stuff we get to swapping.
Yeah, I guess we'll just see if many girls on this board would be interested. It could potentially be pretty active with the number of girls who do a beauty subscription service.
ETA: Plus, I would rather sell or swap with regulars who I recognize from the F&B board, as there are tons of people on Married Life and other boards who I don't "know" since I'm not active on a lot of boards.
I like this idea. I had mentioned on a diff thread that I wanted to sell some pencil skirts and ppl were asking about them, instead of PMing a bunch of people this would be easy:)
I assume we can ask for something we've been looking for too? Like "seeking BB cream you aren't using"....stuff like that? It felt good to send my Garner BB cream to a Nestie when it didn't work for me
I'd love a swap sub-board! I've been swaping on makeuptalk, and it has done wonders for clearing out unused items. Over there, most people will post lists of what they have available, with a "wishlist" included. You can continue to update your own thread, as you have pieces come in and out. It's like everyone has their own little store. Negotiations take place via private message, but others can, and should, leave feedback on the swap in the thread, so that people become more confident in the swapper's reputation.
I've also sold some items, but instead of sending money (via cash or paypal), people will buy an e-gift card somewhere (usually amazon, Sephora, starbucks, etc) and email it to me. They can pay immediately, I get a gift card I like, and they get product. It's a win-win.
