For those of you who have long cycles, have you been diagnosed with PCOS or something else or do you have normal hormone levels and just have long cycles? I feel like something is going on because my cycles are so long, my average cycle is 48 days but can go as long as 65 days and only had 7 cycles last year, but my OB/GYN doesn't seem concerned and don't really know if I should be or not.
I don't have any advice, except I would wonder what was going on if my cycles were consistently that long. I'm pretty sure there are a few girls here with longer cycles that would be more helpful than me! Hopefully they'll pop in and answer.
ETA: My cycles are occasionally longish (up to 35 days) and i just found out i have some sort of cyst this week on one of my ovaries. The longer cycles just started within the past 7 months so I dont really know if its related to the cyst or not.
I have cycles that usually range between 35-40 days. I have hypothyroidism which is corrected with a low dose of levothyroxine and was diagnosed with PCOS that my RE is simply "treating" with clomid to get pregnant.

I have PCOS. Before I was diagnosed, my cycles were 35-40 days, although sometimes I would skip a month entirely. I made an appt to get checked out in March of '12 because it had been 4 months without a period. I started metformin in April of 2012 and since then have been regular. My periods went back to 35 days and now they are getting a little bit shorter...the last 3-4 months have been 32-33 days. If it were me, I would ask your OB for an ultrasound to see if you have cysts on your ovaries if you suspect you might have PCOS. You may have PCOS and not have cysts, but it's one of the indicators they use to diagnose it.
