I don't see a thread already...what did people think? Please forgive my vagueness on names, I looked up as many as I could.
SO glad Tyrion lived. I love his paramour: "These wars, and fighting -- you are terrible at it!"
That whole little staged scene where Joffrey ditches Sansa -- hooray for her, but I wonder what will happen to her. Littlefinger's offer was interesting, I wonder if he is transferring his feelings for her mother to her, or if he thinks rescuing her will get him close to Cat again. I thought he was going to offer for her hand, given his new castle and need for heirs.
Sad to see Arya and Jaqen part ways. They were both kinda awesome, I was hoping for a "The Professional" kind of thing with them.
DH called Jamie Lannister and the female knight's (sorry, don't know her name) storyline "Medieval Midnight Run," lol.
The scene with Daenerys and Khal Drogo and her child was pretty heartbreaking.
*note: i have not read the books, just watched the series*
i liked the finale but i was slightly bummed/surprised that it wasn't more "cliffhanger-y." i love the john snow story line and can't wait to see what happens to him next season.
i was also glad tyrion lived. he's my favorite character. it'll be interesting to see how he handles himself after being pushed aside, again.
i got the impression that littlefinger is really just interesting using whoever (including sensa) he can to maintain his own power. i'm hoping she manages to stay out of his way-- those stark kids are damn smart and resourceful when necessary!
speaking of-- love that rob defied his mom and his promise to marry for love. though, i'm sure that will come back to bite him.
I'm only on book 2 and do watch the series but I don't forsee Robb's marriage to that woman ending very well. I imagine there are going to be serious reprecussions for going back on his word to Walder Frey.
Totally obsessed with this show. I can't believe we have to wait a whole other year to find out what happens. I'm most excited about Khaleesi and her dragons. She is going to have so much power with them. I mean, look at what they could do already, and they're only babies! They burned that witchlord to a crisp.
I'm getting bored with the John Snow storyline. I mean, he's cute as hell, but I'm bored overall with the Knights Watch and the north people and the wildlings. Boring.......
Poor imp. I love when Shay tells him - "You have a shit memory. I'm yours and you are mine." He needs some love in his life. Poor guy has a horrible nephew and sister.
I'm holding out for the father Lanaster. I hope he brings some sense and order to all this crazy madness. I recall an earlier episode when he didn't agree with Ned Stark's beheading, etc. I hope he knocks some sense into Kings Landing in general. Guess we'll find out next season!

I'm also so glad that Tyrion didn't die! He's the best and I would be heartbroken if he had died. The good thing about him is that he is so smart and can talk himself out of most situations. I don't trust his sister, Cersei, at all so I hope he does leave King's Landing at least for a little while for his own safety.
I thought Robb's marriage for love was sweet but agree with pp that it will come back to bite him.
I also thought that Littlefinger approaching Sansa was about his feelings he had for her mother Cat. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to marry her, but considering he runs a brothel I doubt that will happen but if it's for her "safety" she might agree to it. He is not to be trusted though and I'm sure he has his own self-serving motives.
Daenerys and Khal Drogo's scene was so sad. Although I loved the little baby dragons!
So at the end when all those zombie glowing blue eyed creatures were headed towards the wall they were all the people that had died out there but their bodies were not burned? This is why the Wildings (or whatever they are called) insist on their dead being burned I take it.
I've recently started Book 3 so I have a little bit of knowledge about what is going on.
I LOVE Dany. She and the Imp are my two favorites.
I'm also curious how they are going to take the story line with Sansa. I think they are going to include Littlefinger esp. after this "I need to produce children" speech when he was "given" Harrenhal.
I do not trust Littlefinger at all. Like a PP said, I'm afraid he might try and take Sansa to his brothel, and she will be forced to be a prostitute.
I hope Tyrion and Shae leave Kingslanding, at least for a while.
Do you think Arya will find Robb and her mother? She's in for a huge surprise if she goes back to Winterfell. I have a feeling at some point she is going to cross paths with the Hound again.

Yes. The Wall was built with ancient spells to hold back the Others or White Walkers, but that was so long ago that the Watch now believes it was to keep out Wildlings. Of course, that view is changing! The Others are mysterious creatures with blue eyes and seem intelligent, these cannot cross the Wall. Wights are simply reanimated dead like zombies who aren't smart, but they can go past the Wall (these are what attacked Jon in the first season).
I just watched the finale so I'm a little late to the game. I thought it was another great season- not as good as the first, but then the 2nd book was not as action-packed as the 1st. The 3rd book will be roughly split into the next 2 seasons, so both should be amazing! I was dreading the farewell to Winterfell and it was very sad in the show too
... book spoilers (all books).....
There were a lot of changes from the book this season. Changes like who Rob married, Dany's time in Qarth, etc, all still seem like they'll work out generally like the books do.
However, the change I'm wondering about is that Bran and Rickon are supposed to be split up. Maester Lewin instructed them to split up to be safer. Meera and Jojen Reed go with Bran & Hodor beyond the wall, but they weren't introduced in the show. Osha takes Rickon somewhere else that we still haven't discovered (though people theorize they're on Skagos), and Davos is looking for him at the end of DwD. It's going to bug me all year til the next season how this will resolve!
